Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

Ugh... I am so opposed to the idea of lotteries. If this becomes the new trend I will be needing to reevaluate some things. I won’t be playing that game. You and me both pal. I am sure they did it with the best intentions but it's not really the way to handle it IMO. Let's say it is a limited amoun...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

Anyone here got one from the DLT lottery, granted there were only 15 pieces? That one was supposed to pick winners yesterday.

Re: Bottom of pocket/clipless carry ?

Native 5 LW and UKPK are couple I actually removed the clip from. Chaparral goes 50/50 between clipped and bottom of pocket. Most knives I carry make it to the bottom of pocket at some point. Whether it is during use and I don't want to keep re-clipping them, or going to a place where I'd rather not...

Re: How to fix rounded tips?

I rounded tips on couple of knives when I first got my guided system. Haven't used it since. It is easier to fix on bench stones, but over time you should be able to fix it on Sharp Maker as well. Use a sharpie, and when sharpening, make sure you don't remove the ink from the very tip. If you have s...

Re: Your Thoughts of an Ideal Companion Blade?

Companion blade is the one which, if I am carrying two, is not being used at the time. Usually one of my smaller (<3") folders or a fixed blade.

More often than not, one of my Native 5 versions is the ideal one. Really doesn't get used when a companion, but it is there if needed.

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock

Just got my shipping confirmation! That CF version is a beauty...was it always price at $279?? For some reason I thought I saw it listed at $200 on their site last year? I'm also hoping these aren't returns that they had been holding onto for a while and just decided to list them. That was the orig...

Re: contouring g10 scales

I did it on one of my PM2s. The scales are still flat, but more comfortable without the sharp edges, especially on the inside. But even on the outside. I have been planning on doing it on couple more models, just haven't got to it yet. https://i.imgur.com/g0qSQdYh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TgcEBsih.jp...

Re: Straight Spine Stretch

I handled the Stretch 2 on couple of occasions. Both FRN and G10. And although I like the knife, and I appreciate the differences compare to similar knives in this category, the package overall didn't provide enough improvement over models I already favor. And that holds true for other knives I choo...

Maybe this a bad time, but what do you guys think of a green Micarta Cruwear Shaman, or maybe a green Micarta with another exotic steel? I could argue for a larger quantity.

Re: Anything that can replace Chaparral?

If the Chaparral already bumped a Delica and DFly from your rotation, then it sounds like you found what works for you. Caly 3 and Native 5 are a couple of smaller knives, but both are quite a bit bulkier than the Chaparral. One knife which is very different than the standard :spyder: models, is the...

Re: Patina question.

I take it back. There is still some color to be had on an old patina. As long as you wipe it down with alcohol (99%) to remove any oil, it will still show some blue,

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!

I'll join you Larry. Here's a representation of my Golden made G10 squad. Nice lineup! As you know the Police/Rookies aren't made in Golden. Still thought the Patches and knives fit together nicely :) I know. But I've been wanting an excuse to take of picture of this lineup :) . Now, once I add a S...
