Re: Long Term Knife Storage Corrosion Protection

This looks interesting: Eezox is your friend! ;) I’ve used it for well over a decade on guns, knives, reloading press, tools, chrome wheels … It’s not much of a lubricant but I doubt you’ll find a better rust inhibitor. I can't speak for it on knives. But, I use Eezox on all of my guns. It's the be...

Belomo Triplet 10x loupe. Made in Belarus. It has a steel frame and they claim to use Zeiss lenses.

That's what I've got also.
I think they're an excellent loupe and well priced. I also think you don't truly see the difference in optics till you actually compare a few side by side. :)

Re: Permanent damage that you've actually done to a knife?

When I was young and a genius I figured I could smooth out a rough and stiff, pinned back lock with a little valve lapping paste. About twenty five years ago, not long after loosing a much loved Gerber Pixie I started using its brother a Gerber Bird and Trout. These little fixed blades ha...

Pluck me, Joe! That's a rough trot and I'm very sorry to learn this. I wish you a quick and full recovery ole mate. I know from past surgery that you've had and maintained a positive outlook and that matters more and goes further than anything else. Hang in, don't let it get you down and there'll be...

Huh, I wonder why if there were problems with those since all the production ones are still sabre ground.
The only thing that I can think of is being such thin blade stock perhaps there may be warping/distortion in grinding and heat treatment, but I don't rightly know. :)

Re: GITD Ladybug Distributor Exclusive

Not FFG? Are any vg-10 ones ffg? Hi Julia, there was an exclusive with pink scales a few years ago (can't remember where) that was FFG. I wanted to buy a couple for my granddaughters (They're still not old enough to be playing with razor sharp folders. Ah, hahaha!) but shipping was ridic...

Re: Province - Corrosion Resistance

Welcome to the Forum, taklev! :) What concerns me about wetting any carbon steel knife is not what I can see but what I can’t see like water getting between scales and blade stock. I never run any knife under underwater if I can help it except for Salt series knives and I reckon it’s saved me heartb...

That’s awesome, Josh! Our dehydrator gave up the ghost a while back and now I’m thinking I should replace it. :)

That looks ... I cheat, Vivi! I use an older Hapstone Pro System ‘cause I freehand a lot like lightning strikes ... I never hit the same stop twice. :o Ah, hahaha! The Southfork is a gem and I can only imagine how a Phil Wilson Custom at 0.005” behind the edge would perform. If you do happen to stu...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Nothing slips, it really grabs on to materials a lot like a SE knife does. Hey Vivi, not a great photo and not K390 ... it’s my S90V Southfork’s blade at about (?) 26deg, sharpened with alternating passes tip to heal and heel to tip with 220grit SiC. I don’t sharpen every knife this coarse. This wa...

I use Congress Mold Master SIC stones on my Edge Pro.... They are VERY hard SIC with very little filler, very high quality... Hey Jim, I generally sharpen everything with SiC and only go to Diamond or CBN if a particular steel is frustrating me. Congress don't ship to Oz. I could call on a favour f...
