Re: Cleaning Sharpening stones

Jif and a scotchbrite work exceptionally well. Jif is nothing special, it's simply a mild abrasive most likely pumice in a creamy soapy solution. I clean all my Spyder Stones thus after every use. It's nice to start with a clean stone and it only takes a minute. Then I wipe them down with a cloth an...

Re: Negligent discharge

G’day Evil, I feel your pain! One Saturday morning in 1987, I had just finished hand loading a small batch of .338 Win Mag ammo. At the time I was hand loading for several calibres and used “Dummies” a case without powder or primer, just a projectile to re set the seating die for a particular projec...

Re: thanks for the Stretch

Only had my Stretch four days and liking it more and more! Yesterday, I walked past a young seaman at work, cutting up condemned and out of date synthetic lifting slings. I said hello and watched him sawing a Chinesie knock off of a big Buck style folder through these things with considerable effort...

Re: thanks for the Stretch

I was very pleased using my S110V Mule this year on a Muley doe. I don't own a Moran but if they ever did a sprint in another steel I would give it a try. I have a bunch of Mules which is the only reason I haven't given the Moran a try. They have been serving me very well as field knives. They basi...

Re: thanks for the Stretch

[quote="bearfacedkiller"] If your Stretch is ZDP and you plan on getting elbows deep with it I would make sure to give it a thorough cleaning afterwards. You don't want a bunch of blood or goo messing with that ZDP. G'day Darby, As a long time hunter (over 40yrs) who is yet to use a folder, I fully ...

Re: thanks for the Stretch

My first ever Stretch arrived Tuesday. It's a beast! I bought the knife to use on medium game because I've always used a fixed blade. Of all the popular "folding hunter" knives I picked the Stretch specifically for the blade shape. It quite obviously has many loyal followers and receives excellent r...

Re: Bird-Defense Spyderco?

This may sound odd but which Spyderco knife would you all recommend and want if you were in the following situation: Crazed mass of birds (gulls, crows, ravens, vultures, hawks, etc) were dead set on attacking you (like in the famous movie "The Birds")? Would you prefer something like a serrated En...

Re: Hap-40 performance thread

G'day Ken That's awesome! I recently bought a Delica HAP40 also. First Delica and first HAP40 blade. It didn't arrive very sharp and a light strop helped. The knife will only be used for light tasks so I was thinking of setting the bevel at 25 deg and a 30 deg micro bevel. How is your knife sharpen...

Re: Hap-40 performance thread

Delica Hap40 , Gary Graley book corner sharpness test . Push cut , no slicing , sawing or anything unusual , just a straight down push cut in one single motion . This test is just that its a " test " , your knife has to be properly sharp to do this . Of all my Delica's different steels that I've tr...

Just got mine form a Dutch forum. http://home.versatel.nl/jdwijbenga/knives/Spyderco_manbugsb-1.jpg G'day JD, These little razors make exceptional small game knives. Don't let the knife's diminutive size trick you. I used a ZDP to take a fox tail last weekend and dress a couple of rabbits. The knif...

Re: Super Blue Manbug

Definitely grab a HAP Manbug Bloke, you'll regret it down the road if you dont, trust me. The HAP40's are going to be hard to find in a couple years just like the SB's. G'day farnorthdan Mate, I've gone mad on these knives. I bought the first Manbug 04 May just gone, since then I bought another one...

I bought a Delica 4 in HAP40. I s'pose it wouldn't hurt to buy a Manbug in HAP40 as well. :)

Re: Super Blue Manbug

Hello Fellows, I'm new to Spyderco knives. I bought my very first Spyderco ealier this month, a Manbug SuperBlue! I've fallen in love and bought a ZDP-189 as well. These little razors with a three finger grip fit my hand as though it was custom made for me. I took the ZDP out on a fox calling trip o...

Re: New to knives, but found Spyderco

G'day ryguy76 I'm new to Spyderco knives and the forum also. My madness started three weeks ago with a Manbug SuperBlue. I reckoned it was the biggest little knife I'd ever seen. The flat grind is beautiful and dead centre of the laminated blade. It's as sharp if not sharper than any knife I've ever...

Re: New Paramilitary 2, Anyone Verify?

Thanks JT,

I just got a Manbug ZDP from them and it's real and a little special, and I'm waiting on a Stretch ZDP from them as well. So that's good! They ship free to Oz so I'll be back for more. I want a Military s30v.
