Re: Manix2 LW Rex45

I noticed the FRN vs FRCP discrepancy as well. I was going to call, asking about that, but I didn’t get around to it this week. It’s worthy of note, though, that the Native FRN and the Manix FRCP are still slightly different shades of burnt orange. I plan to post a picture comparing them to old and...

I actually like the color better than the HAP40 sprints. It's little more vibrant
I absolutely agree.

Re: Golden Quality

First of all, sorry to everyone for continuing this tangent... :o Also I don't really consider uneven bevels to be any sort of a defect, since it's so easily fixed. Abyss_Fish, please don’t mistake this as an offensive response. I’m just compelled to better explain my experience and meaning. Unevenn...

Re: Golden Quality

After the Cru-carta Shaman, every single one of the 5 Shamans I’ve had has had the show-side tip over-ground. It’s a flaw in the sharpening robot’s programming. Here’s my best picture of it. It doesn’t look severe from this bad angle, but the edge bevel was 1.5-2 times as tall at the tip than the av...

What's an SFO?
Sentences.
Good.
Spyderco's website (and their Front Office):

https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C101BORE2/1853
It stands for Spyderco Factory Outlet.

Re: Where does SPY27 Steel sits among the current Steel lines?

So the Native LW is probably better to compare. S30V = $105.00 REX45 = $112.00 SPY27 = $126.00 S110V = $140.00 Maxamet = $175.00 St. Nicks DLC 4V = $125.00 So still above 2 of the hottest steels in Rex45 and 4V (which probably would have been more in line with the Rex45 without the DLC added costs)...

Re: Shaman Rex45 Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)

Hello SteveMidwest. Mine is also from the LS batch. I was suprised to see the LS date code as well. I have one from the ET run , but I haven't opened it yet. If I decide to keep the ET Shaman I will test it as well. I have an ET and an LS, so I was wondering if you’ve tested the ET Shaman yet. Than...

Re: Spyderco in use, review/feedback thread

Hey Rick, I was wondering what your opinion is of the Manix vs Shaman? I want to like the Shaman more due to its shape (no thumb ramp, contoured handles, and more rounded between-the-finger humps) and longer edge length, but it’s thicker blade stock and super chunky BTE thicknesses are a huge turnof...

Re: Who of you buys only Spyderco, no other brand knives?

For about a decade, Spyderco has been the only brand of folding knives that I buy. The last five years have seen a marked increase in how many I purchase.

I don’t mind the idea of other brands, Spyderco just scratches my itch. :spyder:

Re: Mantra Detent Ball

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but does anyone have a measurement (or better yet a link) for a ceramic ball to replace the detent ball on a Mantra 2? Did you end up pursuing this? My Mantra 2 detent ball is flattened, so I’ve been pondering either flipping it or just getting ceramic. Thanks.
