Keep us updated, I've found that 204p likes a polished edge at low angles.

Re: Red loctite

Perhaps a good compromise would be to leave the policy as-is, using the red locktite and existing warranty language. Stay with me... I would hope that most spyderco enthusiasts willing to take apart or modify their knives are already engaged with Spyderco through this forum. Why not make a pinned an...

Depending on how they're machined I may just dye them solid black. I've been begging for more machined G10 so to me this has potential.
Oh, that's a good idea! That way you get the grippy texture.

Re: Sal, hope to hear from you

In my experience, soft detents affect flipping action a hell of a lot more than pivot irregularities.

Re: Sal, hope to hear from you

Chiming in: I have seen detents on Taichung flippers smooth out and flatten like this before. Not sure if the detent bearings are just softer or not on Taichung models.

The usual fix is popping out the worn ball and replacing it with a silicon nitride one.

Re: Sal, hope to hear from you

I've only ever had cosmetic issues with any Spyderco knife I've purchased, and certainly nothing that affected the functionality (cutting performance, lockup, etc.) Stuff like relative flipping performance or ...

Re: Southard Rant

BTW: this is how the Southard detent looks at the moment: https://s21.postimg.org/3tvnbmh9v/GEDC9043.jpg yeah, that's pretty worn. You can push it out from the other side with a small nail, just make sure you place the scale on top of a giving surface, like a rubber mat or piece of balsa wood. Then...
