Re: SNK Exclusive 4V PM2 & Manix 2

Dangit! I only saw the PM2 alert thread until just now, so I didn’t know the Manix was also available! :( There were only 20 of those. It was already sold out by the time I posted my alert. :-( Dylan had posted on FB about 8 minutes before I could post a heads up here. It's possible the M2s were go...

Crazy random drop, super glad to have been able to snag them and that they're sticking around for more than 30 seconds. Get at em!
Glad you got 'em!

Re: I like that Spyderco brings out so many new models, but...

I own (and like) most of the core models but I also like a lot of others including the collaboration knives. Mantra, Sage, Sliverax, GB, Advocate, Kapara, and even the Smock are all great models. The might not stay in the line up very long but they won't be leaving my collection any time soon.

Re: CPM SPY27 | Edge Performance

I just purchased a S30V Para 3 in G10 to do a side by side comparison with. It should allow us to see what Spy27 offers with more context. I'll be interested to read your comparison. When I touched up my SPY27 P3LW the other night I also did my BD1N P3LW and my G10 S30V & REX45. There were all in n...

Re: Shaman Rex45 Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)

I am learning one thing for sure you have to be on your toes if you want a sprint run knife. I singed up for a few notify me and I got one today and by the time I looked they were all sold out. :( But I think my luck is about to change...time will tell. Signalman  :) :D Keeping my f...

Re: Determining the Best Budget Knife Steel

Thanks for another both very informative but still for layman like me well comprehendable article, Larrin! :) One point that puzzles me again (did so already in your previous article about edge retention): BD1N is worse in edge retention than VG10. This is really contrary to my personal (admittedly...

Re: First Impressions of SPY27 Steel

Certainly we're seeing some of the R&D costs in the current pricing with the spy27 para3 lw at $140, compared to say, the rex45 version at $122.50. I'm definitely curious to see where the prices go from here. But what makes it confusing is that while the Para 3 is up $42 from using SPY27, the Mule ...

Re: CPM SPY27 | Edge Performance

Tonight's trash night at my house. So I used my SPY27 Para 3 to cut up several more boxes. Kind of surprised by how much cardboard I've cut with the factory edge. It was still cutting nicely but definitely not shaving sharp anymore. So I decided to go ahead and touch it up on the Sharpmaker. The edg...

Re: Should I be Disappointed?

Though it is time to move on from s35vn. I know Mr reeve, you did great on s30v and your own 35vn but there as times moves on so should the product. My 2 cents. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but not sure I agree with this. I think S35VN is still one of the most balanced EDC steels there is. ...

Re: First Impressions of SPY27 Steel

I just spent 45 min in the garage cutting cardboard from my recycling bin into tiny pieces. Had a nice pile on the floor when I stopped. The factory edge held up well and was still going strong. I tested on some phone book paper and it was snagging a little but not bad. Then I whittled on some hard...

In the mailbox at home...but my wife is working from home. June was "supposed" to be a "no new knife" month. I can't wait for the text message I get once she grabs the mail today :p Tell her you thought she said July lol Or tell her you had the dealer cut some stuff with it and it's no longer new. ...

Re: Should I be Disappointed?

So, question: What makes the Paysan, or Nirvana (the other Peter Rassenti collaboration) worth more than a CRK Sebenza? Obviously a round hole, and bit nicer steel. What else? Not saying it is or isn't worth more than something like a Seb but the one-piece integral handle on the Paysan can't be eas...

No...at least I don't. After re-reading the OP I think I misinterpreted what they were saying. I thought they might be switching hands. If I was wrong, and I think I was, please disregard lol

Re: Para3 - CPM-SPY27 now shipping!

i received mine today. It's nice! Action's good, like the blue etc. All I can say about the steel at this point is that it's sharp lol. I cut a few boxes with it and then whittled some hardwood. It still shaves arm hair. I'll keep using it until it needs to be touched up. Then we'll see what happens...

Re: Para3 - CPM-SPY27 now shipping!

My pre-order (Placed on 3/1/2020) is still pending so I contacted KC just to see what the status was. I was told that they only received enough knives to fulfill a portion of their pre-orders, they are now waiting on a second shipment. I have waited this long, I don't mind waiting a bit longer :-P ...
