Re: OK, it's time to get serious

Yeah, sounds like a sheepsfoot Delica is what you're after, though like D mentioned, it's already pretty close with its modest belly. And if VG-10 isn't enough, maybe find a ZDP, HAP40, or Super Blue one. You'll lose the saber grind, but you'll get your edge retention increase. You can't tell me th...

Re: Tempted to use Loctite

I had a similar problem with my Sage 1. The pivot never loosened up enough to induce blade play but the blade centering was off a little. So I would adjust the pivot screw and recenter the blade but after a few days of use I would notice the centering was off again. So I removed and cleaned the pivo...

Re: Small Spydies

Great thread!! I love Spyderco's LBK's. My Manbug has been in my pocket every day since I got it and I've been surprised by how often I see my GF using her Ladybug. I carried a G10 Dragonfly yesterday and my Chap accompanied us for a night on the town last weekend. I have several medium sized knives...

Re: Oh The Choices...

Sage fits the requirements. sal I would get one of the sages in s30v. S110v is not the easiest steel for a novice sharpener to work with. S30v is top notch steel and will be a big improvement over what you are currently using in your Leatherman. Within the Sage series, I am a big fan of the Titaniu...

Re: America and Taiwan have something in common--Fire Ants!

I moved to N TX last summer and we have fire ants here. Never had to deal with them in N. IL where I'm from. I was walking into a restaurant for breakfast this morning and some guy was letting his small boy stir up a fire ant nest in a flower bed and showing him how the ants go crazy. My girlfriend ...

Re: Blade Forums

They've been up and down a lot the past couple days. Earlier all I could get was a database error. A few minutes ago vBulletin had a message that said something like "diagosing errors". Now it says "We're making progress. Thanks for your continued patience."

Re: Coarse G10 Para-Military 2 Pics

I am tempted to find one of these. Do we know if they are only the black on black? Thanks for the pics. The announcement in Byte said there was a few hundred of each PM2 with satin and black blades produced with the coarse G10. I really like the idea of the G10 being a little more coarse than than ...

Welcome Miss Dragonfly!!

My first Spydie was a black FRN DF. I've since added several different models including a G10 DF like yours. I think I'll carry the G10 DF today in your honor.

Re: Pocketfriendly-ness

IWB carry at 4:00 is the only way I carry. Any sized knife just disappears so I don't need to be picky with what I carry. You guys should try it and it frees up the pockets. It is also very easy to deploy once you get used to it. Give it a try. I often carry a Manix or PM2 IWB at 4:00. Works well f...

Re: Blame Spyderco and the Forum

Well I'll blame Spyderco first for making GREAT knives. And the forums here for encouraging me :) I bought my first Spyderco 2 months ago. Now own: Dragonfly Salt Dragonfly HAP40 Delica 4 Jess Horn Lightweight (what a BEAUTIFUL blade on this thing) Ordered a Native 5 Dark Blue Lightweight today. I ...

Re: Anyone else have a Tanaka?

There was a knife dealer at a large flea market affair I was at over the weekend. The guy had numerous Spyderco knives on the table for sale. I was standing there handling the knives and talking Spydies with a couple of the other guys and one of the guys pulls a Tanaka out of his pocket and hands it...

Re: Thoughts on a Manbug/Ladybug Snap-It or Remote Release?

I think I'd prefer to simply add a quick release to the lanyard hole. Been thinking about doing that with my Manbug. Easy to add and remove if I don't like it on a key chain.

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2016 Report of Spyderco Prototypes

2) Anyone else excited over the change in Spyderco font on the tang? I know that's a tiny detail but I like the curve in the script on that Sage. On one hand I'd kinda rather the script be as minimal as possible, but on the other hand if it's gonna be there may as well make it look good. Maybe I'm ...
