Re: Fake Rubicon? now sold

There are no assisted knives made by Spyderco as far as I know, so that is the first clue. The Chinese language stick on the box is the second clue.
As a reminder, please always use the "Report this item" link on each listing of these fakes.

Another excellent article! Thank you. It helps dispel the clouds of marketing that hide the mountains of facts.

My Kapara has been getting all of the pocket time lately. So many good options, so I choose by not choosing.

Re: Back locks with edges going all the way to the handle

I think my words might be misunderstood. I'll just quote Sal here "For my personal designs, there are some things, especially in back-locks, that I am not willing to give up. I battled this for years. "

Voted #2 Somewhat. Self described "accidental collector" or in your words casual enthusiast(light user, bordering on collector).

Re: iPhone cases

In addition to the above brands, Nomad makes a series of high quality cases for iPhones and other Apple products. When they have sales the deals are very good. I give them a strong recommendation. https://nomadgoods.com/

Re: Back locks with edges going all the way to the handle

They are, I am the first to be with you on that! (just see my post to which Sal actually did reply here... ;) ) I know, and no offense meant to you or others. However, I sometimes get frustrated with all the comments and ideas that Sal "should make such and such" or change some feature he designed ...

Hi Albatross, ... Also, Albatross, If we were to make a byrd model called the Albatross, what should it be? sal It should be a very large neck knife. ;) Ah, I hope someone gets the joke. *sniff* I guess no one got it. No interest from me on an XL/Elder, but I can see the appeal for those with giant mitts. Now that they found the "special sauce" for selling Shamans, this could happen.

REC has become a "go to" for me. Just placed another order today for a Leatherman based on my last experience with them on the Sprint.

Re: One of the best bargains of the 21 century?

I remember thinking, when the first release dropped in 154CM and a sabre grind, that I really needed one. It was under $90 and blew away the rival Griptillian in value.

Re: Back locks with edges going all the way to the handle

Hi Warstein, I appreciate your interest and loyalty, and I appreciate the kind words. I am not disputing your argument and I'm really not in disagreement with you. I realize that there are many that agree with you and have no problem with that. I also realize that all designs of knives, sailboats a...

Re: Back locks with edges going all the way to the handle

I think some models could be released with a choil-less blade, with the kick modified to fill in the half-choil left in the handle. The plunge could be moved back towards the handle some as well. Certainly less expensive than an all new knife, but I'm guessing Eric and Sal enjoy making new a design ...

Clever solution. I like wire clips myself, I just wish they were a bit stronger. This new Lynch clip should be tough to keep in stock.

Re: Are sprint runs too small?

I'm in favor of much larger runs of less frequent sprint runs. In other words, fewer sprints per year (say, 1 or 2) and double the quantity. These aren't hard numbers, of course. Even though I feel flippers now make up a large % of sprint buyers, maybe even the majority, I'd have to say it would not...

One of the best bargains of the 21 century?

In my humble opinion, one the best bargains in the knife world is the Spyderco Manix 2 in any flavor. It is such a good bargain, I have to think Spyderco has made a conscious effort to keep the price low and the value very high . Perhaps the "good old days" are still here? Thank you to Eric, Sal, & ...
