Re: Reinhold Rhino Update

Pretty sure the cost will push this out to a slim maybe from must have. Don't see how it going from a basic working person's knife to full Afi model with the bells and whistles makes a lot of sense. Just my 2 cents. I'm sure it will be nice, just not the same knife some people were excited about. T...

Re: Any new maxamet knives in the que?

Eric declared in a SHOT Show interview that Maxamet will be available in numerous FRN models, then in numerous G10 models. On hearing him, I made a mental note (since changed) to get a Maxamet Para3. Thank you for this info! Some good news, now I don't have to worry about getting a backup N5 Maxame...

Re: Reinhold Rhino Update

If street price is under $100, this will be hard to resist. I would be shocked if it arrives under $100 with those upgrades. I'm guessing MAP of $130. My preorder will be cancelled and instead of two I'll end up with zero. Don't get me wrong, it will be a great knife and a nice improvement for Mich...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

The only thing I found a need for was the SpyderPac small and saved a few bucks on it. My safe Queens will go in that and then into the safe. Thanks for tip!

Re: Native 5 Maxamet is out also!

Speaking of the new Native Maxamet has anyone really examined the back, curved part of the blade. It's as smooth and slick a bearing surface as I see anywhere in the knife world currently. Very well ground and finished. These guys continue to move up and forward. Joe Funny, I was just looking at th...

Re: Rhino

Don't give up. We were informed at the Oregon Knife Show that production was moved to the Taichung factory. The Rhino will be better quality and steel now. Interesting news. I guess those of us who pre-ordered are going to out of luck. No way our purchase price will be honored if there is a price i...

Very nice write up! I'm going to try to hold out for a sprint run. You might be able to guess what two steels I would like to see.

Re: Wharncliffe Delica Handle Swap?

Well, I guess I just much prefer FRN to G10. The custom scales I got and modded and smoothed feel great, but I needed FRN for this knife. So, I swapped them to blue. http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/ad297/billy-jazz/1B8BC5EE-1A47-4C29-A183-EBE85E2B376B_zpsqw4crnuw.jpg http://i945.photobucket.com/...

Re: C60 GP Sprint Run: Ayoob

I have one original in SE and one sprint in PE. I'd really like one in Cru-wear with gray G10. If it must be HAP-40, please leave it clad to reduce the chance of pivot rust.

Re: Frog Lube gummed up Mantra?

I like the smell of Froglube, but it does not get used a pivot lubricant on my knives, only as a blade treatment occasionally since it is non-toxic. I have noticed that Froglube ,and some others, will tend to lift previous lubricants and form a sort of dirty gel. My guess is there is something actin...

Re: Native 5 Maxamet is out also!

It may well be my favorite Spyderco and just may need to buy a backup. One can hope that Maxamet becomes as ubiquitous as vg-10 or S30v in Spyderco's line up, at least as the upgrade steel.

Re: Premium blade steel in premium knife?

I would really hate to see Spyderco become a boutique blade maker instead of who they are, a maker of great blades with excellent value for the money spent. That ratio is already changing, and in my personal opinion, for the worse.

So far, so good. I have not had a chance to really let it show its stuff, though.

Re: Spyderco Endura and Delica Warranty Parts

Spyderco sold repair kits and they didn't sell well and were discontinued. Yes, I remember those. I was thinking more granular kits like two washers or one back spacer, etc. I think it is doable, but I have no knowledge of how lean Spyderco runs so they may have no bandwidth to spare for, ah, spare...

Re: Some of my Spydiehole work

Thank You everyone for the positive feedback. There is nothing going on in terms of collaboration with Spyderco yet, but I'm aware that it would definately help with the availability. I keep my knives strictly handmade, no CNC machines except for the screws which are custom made for my knives only....

Re: Spyderco Endura and Delica Warranty Parts

Wow. He said in his first post "I was willing to purchase the parts." so he is not trying to get a warranty repair, he just wants to buy parts and fix it himself. This is pretty common to do in the firearms field, the automotive field, etc. The cutlery industry seems a bit behind on this as selling ...
