Re: Looking at the Sage 5 LW

The Sage5 handle has an advantage that it shares with the Sage4... no lockbar cutout for the liner/frame lock (and no added bump for the bolt lock Sage3). In hand I appreciate this very much. Unlike the CF Sage5, the LW version also has the same pivot bushing setup as the Para3 LW, making for truly ...

Re: What Spyderco do you think was your best value?

I think my GB2 was $118 from national knives, Sage1 about $100. Both great values IMO. The pre MAP days were glorious.

If we are talking strictly best price, that jcpenny deal was pretty crazy https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/291648

Re: Sticky compression lock

I've had more PM2s than I care to admit, and for some reason I've never been able to rid the lock stick from my REX45. If you've tried all the suggested methods, it may be time to send it to Golden. I just live with it... anyway, it's extra security.

Spyderco Byte January 2020

Michael Janich doesn't sleep, he waits.

Can we do this again? :D

Also, is the Benshot glass bring-your-own-handle? In the Shot Show video it shows a complete knife hanging out the side.

Another issue for me is that BM runs their steel soft.
Benchmades S30v has been awesome for me as well, and their M4 was tested and confirmed to be spot on. The only complaint I've heard recently was their 3v being soft on the Bailout.

Nice. So glad I prefer the PM2 to the Shaman and Para3 or I'd be broke with all these great variations.

Re: Chaparral LW vs. (new) BM Mini Bugout

I often have called the Chaparral "pocket perfection", and I still think it is. However, the Bugout has continued to be one of my most carried knives since it dropped after adding Ti scales to it. It's easy to see why with it being so thin and light with the same sharpened edge as the PM2. The added...

I was happy when my Salt arrived with T8 all around. I really appreciate a knife that needs only one driver.

I think I understand why they did what they did, but the Lockback with a Wireclip would have been my preferred Lil'Native.

I've bought a lot of scales from RC Bladeworks. PM him on Instagram and he will likely make you a set in whatever color you want.
