I didn't think I'd like it but it's great in person IMO

Re: Best torx wrench set

+1 for Wiha. I used cheapies for years, but the Wiha torx (and phillips) drivers lock into heads with more confidence and bite.

The Wiha 36291 is my favorite set, with the thicker handles for more control.

Re: 2020 hopes and dreams

PM2 LW with deep carry wireclip like the Para3 LW seems like a cash cow.

Hoping the K390 Seki lineup drops this year.

Still wishlisting a Slysz Rat.

Dreaming of a PM2 Skinny back lock, linerless G10 like the Manix BL but thinner stock than the regular PM2.

I actually really love the smooth scales on the Manix. The locked in ergos and jimping are more than enough for me.

Re: Pick a first Benchmade

Bugout is their best knife in a long time IMO. Same cutting edge as the PM2 in a much smaller and lighter package. It defines practicality in an EDC, similar to how I feel about the Chaparral. I loved mine so much I purchased a second and some new scales for both. The Ti one is probably my most carr...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

I think it looks good overall, but those thumb studs look to be pretty massive. Are they larger than typical studs, or am I just seeing it wrong? I don’t find them to be too big but if I have one complaint it is that they are a little smooth. I am obviously partial to the Spydie hole so I am not th...

Re: Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Does anyone here have any info or an educated guess on the chances/timeframe of a Sage 5 LW coming in all black dlc? Or other colors than the standard black handle? After some research this seems to be the perfect knife for me, but I’d like something a bit less plain if possible :D There is nothing...

Just got it in today from the SFO. Really liking this orange in person! Attaching a black pocket clip to match the cage lock and we’re good to go for my EDC for awhile.

Thanks for the pic! Grab some black screws from the SFO while you are at it ;)

Backlock version FTW. I find the comp lock difficult on small knives.

Maybe off topic compared to most of the ones in this thread, but the staircase fight scene in Atomic Blonde was pretty fun. They shot it like all one cut:

The ZT 0640 is all about soul, but Big Chris made mine a great cutting tool as well by bringing it to a near zero grind.

Re: Intro to tool steel?

M4 is how I got my feet wet, and the first steel I truly enjoyed. K390, REX45, and M4 are some of my favorites because they perform at a very high level. If sharpening intimidates you, 52100 or Cruwear is easier to get sharp, but won't hold an edge nearly as long IME.

Re: Why no sprints for the backlock Lil'Native ?

My theory on why the Lil Native Backlock is not more popular than the comp lock is the clip.... Agreed. The spoon clip and backlock were more "Nativey", but ultimately a backlock with a wireclip would have been ideal IMO. Give it some jimping to match the Native5 and I think it would sell even more...
