Re: Clip Preference

I didn't place a vote because for me it depends upon the size and style of the knife. I think each has its place.

Re: How did you discover Spyderco?

High quality knives have been my #1 passion for over 55 years, starting in 1962 when I bought a TL-29 from the Quartermaster Sales Store, at Fort Bragg, NC. The mid-1990's found me at the Oregon Knife Show, where I met a nice guy by the name of Sal Glesser who had some interesting folding knives to ...

Re: Why linerless?

Tastes are so different. Every time when I handled my Manix LW I felt it was too light for such a rather large and wide knife. How delighted I was when I replaced it with the KC exclusive Cru-Wear version. :) Oh, and again: the P4 proves that any knife with liners can still be thin! +1 here. This h...

Re: Just bought my first Chaparral

My Titanium Chaparrals are my most treasured knives and I carry one with me every day because it is such a joy to use. I love the weight, heft, and feel in hand of the Titanium models, and the unique and intricate beauty of the Stepped designs. Just a great little knife all around. Too nice not to c...

Re: MT27P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with Micro-Melt® PD#1

I attempted to place my order for the new MT27P along with the G-10 scales and Boltaron sheath and found the scales and sheath listed as Out Of Stock. Did not place the order. Disappointing. :( Update Friday 10/20: Boltaron sheaths now In Stock. G-10 scales to be available in 1 - 2 weeks. :) Dave

Re: Contoured Handle Scales

Yeah the handle doesn't need to be round. If they took the typical scale and doubled it in thickness then contoured them down to standard thickness it would drastically improve ergonomics without making it a pocket hog. This is exactly what I was thinking when I made the original post. Something li...

Contoured Handle Scales

For a long time now I have been wishing that some of my favorite :spyder: knives had a bit of contour to the handle scales, similar to the contour of the scales that feel so good to me on my Mule Team knives. The fluted Titanium variations of the Native and the Military come to mind. The contour on ...

Re: Big-handed people, what's your favorite smallish knife?

I love my Titanium Chaparral and it goes along every day with me just because I like the design and the way it cuts so efficiently with its thin blade, but it is the only small sub-3" blade knife I will tolerate. My Manix 2 fits my hand "okay", but it is really about as small as I want to go for a w...

Re: Spyderco Natural G-10 Manix 2 M4 Blade HQ Exclusives

Those new photos make me want this one even more!! Gonna be a "must have" for sure.
I wish we could have one of these in a Manix 2 XL size as well.

Re: Following backup with the Manix XL and upgraded steel...

I would love to buy a Manix 2 XL, if one was offered in a good non-stainless tool steel like K-390, Maxamet, M-4, or PMA11, as long as it retained the skeletonized liners and .125" blade thickness. Green G-10 would be a nice bonus! I really wish the upcoming Blade HQ Dealer Exclusive Manix 2 with CP...

Re: Sprints and Exclusives Killing Regular Production Models?

As long as it is a Spyderco :spyder: , and a model I personally like, I will buy it.
It matters not in the least to me if it be an Exclusive, a Sprint, or a Regular Production piece.
Either way Spyderco :spyder: still gets my money, and I'm good with that.

Re: Practical knives that need to be made

Might as well add my Wish List to the mix. Manix 2 with liners, G-10 scales, and blade not in excess of .125" in thickness, in K390, Maxamet, or PMA11. I am already committed to the Blade HQ Dealer Exclusive with CPM M-4. After acquiring my first Light Weight version of the Manix 2 a few months ago ...

Re: Pretty Spydercos that you can't see your self using

For me that knife does not yet exist. The appreciation of my knives lies in the use of them. I enjoy using fine tools and superior blade steels. The money spent for my knives does not come easily to me, and I want to fully enjoy them to the extent possible. For me that means pocket time. :) Dave

Re: Your next purchase?

Next up for me will be the Dealer Exclusive, Blade HQ Manix 2 with CPM M-4 blade and Natural G-10 scales.
Unless there is a Manix 2, or Manix 2 XL, released with a K-390, Maxamet, or PMA11 blade, with liners and G-10 scales, and blade not in excess of .125" thickness. previous to that.
