Re: Diamond Benchstones? Maintenance & Durability?

I have used both the Polycrystaline and the Monocrystaline bench stones in a variety of grits and the Monocrystaline is, for me, the more long lasting and superior stone. When in use I clean it with Windex when it loads up, wiping with a microfiber towel or an old clean rag. Before storing it I clea...

Re: unbreakable boot laces?

Geez Louise, sneaky for sure!! I never even noticed the dates and just thought it was a worthwhile Topic. Got me totally ..... which was apparently not hard to do. Interestingly enough though, I received my three pairs of boot laces today and they really are a quality product. Something good c...

Re: What Spydie would you grab in an emergency?

After carefully reading all the posts and different scenarios on this thread I've now put all my good knives in a wheelbarrows just inside the back door. Beloved wife's complaining that the kitchen is no place for a wheelbarrow full of knives so I wheeled it into the lounge room and she still isn't...

Re: What Spydie would you grab in an emergency?

Easy choice for me. It would be at least one of my Mules. I edc a Mule, and that one lays on my nightstand next to the bed when I'm not dressed and carrying it. I also keep a Mule in my Emergency Evacuation Bag, that contains my grab and go gear. If I had time to throw a few things in the vehicle b...

Manix 2 Sprint Run

I am trying to bond with my Manix 2 LW, but I just can't get used to the FRCP frame. It is light, practically disappears in the pocket, and is easy to carry, but it just doesn't feel "right" to me, especially after handling the Manix 2 with the skeletonized stainless steel liners and G-10 scales. I ...

Very interesting post Lance. I always enjoy a good practical field use review.
Sometimes the best knife for the job is the one you have with you. Glad the Millie served you well enough.

Re: unbreakable boot laces?

I just placed my order with MDL for 3 pairs of laces, scheduled to arrive the first of the week. John's website is easy to use, with several options to choose from, making it quick and easy to place an order. Within minutes of placing the order I received shipping notification. Outstanding!! Feels g...

If you don’t want to make them yourself check out http://www.maddoglaces.com for the finest paracord laces on the planet. I just added this MDL website to my Favorites listing. The Marine Corps Veteran Owned Business did it for me. I am going to give these laces a try. They look like a high quality...

Re: Re: Name a Spyderco knife you thought you would like but didn't once you owned it.

I guess I'd have to say, it's my Manix 2 LW. This was my first experience with the LW FRCP frame. I got the knife for its Maxamet blade and, for me at least, what's not to like about Maxamet? I've loved Maxamet ever since I got it in my Mule. But I am one of those who likes a bit of heft and solid f...

What a nice birthday gift, and a beautiful inscription to go with it.
May your love be as strong and long lasting as that good Maxamet blade. :)

Re: How do you justify your next Spydie purchase?

Quite easy! I’ve stopped eating but not completely because I still eat what people leave behind at the local McDonalds and the staff know me now and I get a few freebies. I don’t buy clothes any more but we live in an affluent part of Sydney and there are many quality garments hanging on nearby clo...

Re: Maxamet or S110V?

[It is looking like I am the proud owner of a Manix 2 in S110V. But it's okay. It's a great knife and a high end stainless blade steel. Life could be a lot worse. :) I'll be interested in your thoughts after using and sharpening it half a dozen times or so. I must be the luckiest thing on ear...
