Very cool work to be proud of. Do I spy a gray Manix 2 LW? I didn't know those were released yet. Yes you do. Maxamet. From the seconds sale. I think there were a couple there. As I understand it, they still havent shipped. Unfortunately that one is for the guy I proxied for, so I dont know how the...

Re: Restoring 3 broken spydies

Nice work. The only thing I'd question is whether cutting down the kick on the Delica causes the edge of the blade to hit the spring or backspacer? I ask because it's always been my understanding the kick's purpose is to keep that from happening. Good question, I'd like to know the answer also...ho...

Ok, less worried now. I remember carefully examining centering since the proxy said that is one thing he cared most about, and I would have definitely seen that. Thanks!!

Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!

Also, I have now handled the Maxamet Manix I got quite a bit. Since it is for someone else I haven't been cutting anything, but the scales are a super nice color, and it is usual nice manix grind and lockup. Fun to get something that is still for preorder only (from what I can tell) The only Maxame...

Thank you. I find tanto to be one of the least useful blade shapes, but figured it was time for something other than leaf and wharncliffe in the collection. :)

Restoring 3 broken spydies

So, just like last year, I bought up most of the broken spydies I could find at the seconds sale. This year there werent as many good ones, but still a few to be had. Last year I got a a Sage 1 for $5, delica for $10, and zdp df2 for $20. Reground the tips. This year I got a broken delica for $5, a ...

Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!

Just got home. Here is the haul not including the tatanka and 6" utility knife I already dropped with their new owner. A couple of these are also going to a new home (manix maxamet and s110 native. The top three have major work that needs done to reprofile the tip and restore a decent edge. The othe...

Re: Are all Spyderco Knives Ambidextrous?

Dear Mal: I write all the catalog copy for Spyderco and make a point of highlighting ambidextrous function whenever it's appropriate. Please bear in mind, however, that you need to read carefully, as product copy is both marketing and education. Here are some tips. Stay safe, Mike The definitive an...

Re: paramilitary 3

Is the stop pin floating or pinned? Can the knife be taken apart by the owner. One post said it was floating and another said it was pinned. I suppose we don't actually know yet, but 99.99% chance its a floating pin, sandwiched between the liners. I'd be shocked if it was pinned/riveted. Is the flo...

Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!

All sales are final. That is why you have to be there to inspect. Trust me, that is a good thing. There are some gems at the sales for sure but there are some rough knives as well. You absolutely want the opportunity to see them for yourself. Even being there in person and closely inspecting every ...
