Re: Endura 4 FFG FRN problem?

I did a little at home test, I cut up a long but very slim piece of paper and put it underneath the blade and closed it, while the blade was fully closed I could put pressure on the back or pull it up a bit and let the back lock slam the knife down, not once did I feel any resistance to moving the p...

Re: Endura 4 FFG FRN problem?

I've sharpened a couple of my cheapo knives on it, I'm just not very confident with my sharpening skills at the moment. I'm pretty certain I would actually dull it rather than make it any sharper.

Re: Endura 4 FFG FRN problem?

Okay, I might try to sharpen it on my sharpmaker, I just got into knives and haven't taken any of my expensive knives to my sharpmaker. I'm pretty nervous about trying to sharpen it, idk if I should use the 40 degree or 30 degree on my endura, I just pretty much dont want to **** it up lol. Edit: if...

Endura 4 FFG FRN problem?

I have a brand new Spyderco Endura 4 FFG with FRN handle. I think I've found a problem, I have never sharpened the blade and it is still razor sharp. All I have cut with it is paper to test the sharpness. There is a very small but noticeable gouge in the edge of the blade, and it seems to perfectly ...

Re: Anybody here have a Tuff?

I don't abuse my knives at all, but I always would like to know that I could if necessary and not have to worry about it. I don't have any hard use to do with them even, the worst my knives will probably see is cutting up some cardboard, so I could go with a manix or a pm2 but I like how tough the T...

Re: Anybody here have a Tuff?

I didn't specify because I have already looked into CPM 3V steel. I haven't really seen any other tougher hard use steels out there with the small cons it has. I am not worried about the knife having blade play because of the oversized pivot screw, and the blade steel is superb, all I really would l...

Re: Anybody here have a Tuff?

I don't go around chopping trees down all day, but I want at least one knife that I could beat on as hard as I want and still be confident and not nervous of damaging it.

Re: Anybody here have a Tuff?

I am really looking into the Tuff because I kind of have trust issues with the toughness of a blade after I have had some locks fail and almost lose my fingers, or silly me try to get into the knife world and make the huge mistake of throwing down $105 on a P.O.S. Gerber Propel Downrange A.O. I lite...

Anybody here have a Tuff?

I am looking to spend around $300 on knives in the next coming days, and I've noticed I need a work horse and I would like to try out a larger knife. Anybody know how reliable the lock is on the Tuff? The lock is the only thing I've seen people have problems with on review videos. I'm thinking I'm g...

Re: I need help picking a large folder.

I'm still open to other suggestions or hearing from other people that have owned these knives or similar large folders.

Re: I need help picking a large folder.

I don't want to take my try at a larger knife with only getting a 4" blade, I wanna see how a really big 5.05" blade feels just so I can try out a really large folder.

Re: I need help picking a large folder.

Yeah I've quickly caught on that Spyderco makes some of the highest quality knives out there, now I've never had my hands on a Benchmade but I really want to get a custom Griptillian or Barrage.

Re: I need help picking a large folder.

Yeah thats the reason I wanna try out such a large knife, I've never had one so it might be what I prefer but I just dont know it yet.

I will definitely be posting pictures when I get it! And if anybody has questions about if it feels too large or anything I'll give my 2 cents about it :).

Re: I need help picking a large folder.

I am a huge fan of how easy it is to have a folder, and also love their look and feel, I also play with them so a fixed blade is a little out of my style. And what is a worry stone?

Re: I need help picking a large folder.

I've always been able to find a way to close a blade one handed, I think I'll be able to close it like my endura, holding my index finger near the front of the handle, then hold down the backlock and flick the blade down and it should catch on the part behind the actual ground blade.
