I know a custom maker that could easily do that mod.

It's bizarre that forum members here have children that are the same age as me. Lol

Re: LC200 N or H1 whats the difference?

LC200n isn't wear hardening. It's a copy of Cromidor 30 bearing steel. It's heat treated.

Re: Blade Show 2018 !!!

I'd love a piece of Spyderco jewelry. I want to try to make it this year. Getting a room by the time I would be able to find it all out will be the issue though.

I handled this knife. It was fantastic. I'll definitely have to purchase one.

What do you think of me using thin paper as my test?

Thanks!!!
Michael
It's more difficult to cut, especially push cutting. The coarser the edge the more difficulty you'll have.

Yes. Edge differences are more detectable this way. It's a common, if not standard test.

I was trusted but too afraid at 7. When I was 14-15 I purchased and was carrying a Manix 2 XL.

Just don't let the S110v dull to where you're needing to do any amount of stock removal, right?

Very interesting. Might have to save up my pennies. I actually use my HAP-40 Endura 4 for all my kitchen uses. It really is a pocket kitchen knife

Re: What is a "working edge"?

HAP-40 holds a working edge... VG-10 and CTS-BD1 don't. I find HAP-40 to be in the sweet spot between scary sharp edge retention and achieving and wear resistance. At least in my uses. Food prep, cardboard, game processing.

It's a pricey option... But M4 or Maxamet would definitely be worthwhile.

Re: Jot Singh Khalsa Ad?

I have a set of two posters that apparently were distributed to knife dealers to display. They are both different than that classic Jot Singh Khalsa ad which "anagarika" just displayed that was in several of the popular knife magazines of that era. One of the Jot Singh Khalsa Posters I have is with...

That's not necessarily a bad example. Ceramic is definitely lacking in toughness compared to steel's.

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

The price increases don't over shadow the value either. Not by a long shot. Some more exotic or artistic models are really up there but not what I'd consider overpriced, there are real overpriced products on the market, not naming names but they have followings. Can't please everyone, especially som...

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

Whew back on topic here! I think the Polestar is a cool design, I really do! But it's overshadowed by so many other designs and the "China" print on the blade deterrs me when I can snag a Delica/Endura for a little bit more. Put it in the $80-120 category with CTS-XHP and produce it in the US or Tai...

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in their “VALUE LINEUP”

The US choice is appealing, and may benefit from a rebranding of the knife, like a name change to work well and convince everybody that it's new The second Taiwanese option seems to be more easily integrated jnto the current lineup but it would certainly be less of a standout than if it were Cruwear...

Re: Worn out CBBL

The carbides in the steel would definitely contribute to an increase in wear, at least in theory. Otherwise bearing steel would be high carbide haha.
