Re: My suggestions on a new knife

Wrong thread? Returning to the original topic .... The OP might find the posts submitted here by the designers of the Spits and Ourobouros of real interest, as they show a glimpse of the amount of detailed thought and consideration needed for a successful - and unique- knife design. They certainly c...

Re: Question for Sal and Spyderco .

Thanks Sal, I'm aware of Zen. I bought my Delica from them indirectly of course because they don't sell to the public. It's a duel edge sword. Zen sell to retail distributors having paid there taxes etc., the retailer marks up the price to make it profitable for him and the consumer bleeds! It's ac...

Re: The loss of common courtesy

Here is a related question for you all: In regards to courtesy and gift giving, what do you think of someone who, if they give you a gift, they have an expectant attitude that you should give them a gift of at least equal or greater value than the gift they gave you, or else you are rude and selfis...

Re: Line X Spray makes things nearly Indestructable??

Sounds like your man on the internet lost his tinfoil hat, or went off his meds. :D Whilst it probably used to be true that conflict generated the most innovation, now its profit. Anything half decent gets out there to make money. Also, the vast majority of research is undertaken, repeated, peer re...

Re: Question for Sal and Spyderco .

Hi Harronek, The Delica is a mainstream model. The mainstream prefers stainless steels for general use. ZDP is a stainless steel (though not as corrosion resistant as VG-10). As Yab mentioned, the market wanted ZDP as a regular steel and in a Delica, the cost is more affordable. However, I should m...

It was available for any member, but you had to sign up for it by a specific date.

It must have taken a lot of work, and for a relatively small quantity, which makes me all the more grateful.

I keep a county comm 4" widgy on me every day for popping cast iron inspection covers. It's tough and cheap enough. I also have a Boker mini-bar, which is too gorgeous and expensive to use for virtually anything. In the world of the £5 gerber shard, a Spydie OPT would be a tough one to pitch except ...

For what it's worth, I think the Kiwi4 is exquisite in both form and function (maybe not materials, but it's already circa $190 here...).
