Sfo

I tried the SFO and was told that they were not in yet. Does anyone know when this might happen?

disc. specials

It has been a while since I have seen any decent quantity of closeouts from the factory. I have been fortunate enough to have picked up some great deals on Lums, and German Herbst knives from this website. I only wish I had gotten more.

Al Mar

As a knife designer Al Mar was important in the early days of Spyderco. Much of the knife business in Japan depends on introductions and it is my understanding that Al Mar provided some of the early Japan contacts for Sal. After his passing the company remained in family control until it was sold to...

Knives in Japan

Thanks for the heads up Felly. Spydercos are available in some of the better knife stores but they are not cheap. Sometimes you can find older models that have been sitting on the shelves for a while. The concept of sale prices or discount pricing is not very widespread at all. I know of a few knife...

Worker

Next one, if I do another, will be better. I like the idea of being able to have a knife display in your office that will show your interests, not to mention what you have in your pocket. Maybe a Military shadowbox? Or first five Spydercos? spyderwa Rare Spyderco Website http://www.angelfire.com/tre...

Worker

I forgot to mention that my 1st-gen Worker is really an early 3-screw model. It still has the flat slab sides Technically it would be the 2nd variation of the first model with 3 screws and one handle side thicker than the other. Still looking for the first 2-screw Worker at a price that I don't have...

Shadowbox

Here is the link for searching patents. You may have to create a free account to view pdf. images. I don't think it will let you download the images, but you can print them out from the pdf. viewer toolbar. Search under Glesser not Spyderco. Look for the older ones to find the Worker. Have fun, you ...

Worker Shadowbox

This is a project that I have been thinking of for a while now. Finally had a few hours available so here it is. I wanted to make a little display for desk or shelf showing the first Spyderco knife. I really did not want to lock away my first-gen Worker in a box so I made one for the display. I star...

Tires

Slashing tires wouldn't work since half the time we were riding in the same car from the hotel to the show. Need to figure out a better way. Actually there were enough knives to go around. I spent more than I had planned but that is a good thing. People in the hunt are always searching for different...

Oregon

We really did have a great time at the show. My arm is still a little sore from trying to restrain Felly from all the nearby Spyderco deals. And my ankle is sore from trying to trip him as he was running toward more rare spydies. And my neck is still sore after the police clubbed me for falsely repo...

Oregon

I would like to mention that Ed's son Martin is one of the best flintknappers out there. His work is awesome! Felly and I will be tag teaming helping at one of the show tables but hopefully we can meet some other forumites.

Oregon Knife Show

Just curious how many of our fellow forumites plan to be at the Oregon knife show in Eugene this weekend. I know Felly Jr will be there among others. Felly has agreed to keep his wallet hand tied behind his back to make things more competitive. I believe Spyderco will have a presence as well. Anybod...

Holy Grail Knives

The #001 Two-screw Worker has to be top of the list. I believe Sal has a two-blade Civilian. There are some lucite prototypes in Spyderco posession that would have to be very cool. Any white-handled knife is uncommon. The TTZ Probe is rare, (only seen one for sale). The Pre-Diver is also very hard t...

Farewell

I hate to see the little guy go. After all, it did bite Felly. :p Perhaps it has developed a rudimentary form of intelligence. We must clone him, (or her?). The only question is Delica 3 or Delica 4 for the donor body.

Worker 2000

The knife in question is the famous, (or infamous), Worker 2000. Through a complicated series of events this knife was misplaced for seven years. Finding it was a one in a million coincidence. It will soon be reunited with the original owner. Now we just need to make another Worker 2000, or four for...

Worker 2000

Worker 2000 rings a bell. Not sure if it was one or two or ? made. Very interesting find. We should know for sure in two weeks. I think we need a Delica 4 Worker 2007. What do you think?
