That's terrifying. I have looked at some internal pics of this knife and thought to myself the stop pin cutout does remove quite a bit of steel. I like to think Spyderco did strength tests and this is an isolated freak incident. This knife is otherwise far too beefy and far too expensive to not be ...

Hey everyone. I didn't want to repost about this but right now I'm trying to sharpen my chaparral (on a sharpmaker) for the second time and I've got a couple questions. As I said originally the edge angle is too high/too blunt on the left side. I've sharpened it on medium stones by tilting the last...

Finally got the chance to handle a Domino today, and learned that I had the CF pattern completely wrong, and was indeed comparing it to Nishijin in my mind. The texture in very similar to the Taichung/GB/Sage version I was referencing in this thread. Also, I find that I like it a lot more in person...

Whoa whoa whoa, you aren't getting by that easy. What steel for the Para 2 and what body material for the Chap? :)

It's kind of tough to find sub 3" folders with black coated blades since a DLC coating is generally for tactical applications. Reducing the potential for glare off of a knife. And there aren't really many 3" or lower knives that would be considered for tactical use. In reality, most black ...

I haven't experienced as much of the Spyderco family as I would like, but I would probably be pretty happy with a 1-2 combo of a Southard and a G-10 Dragonfly.

I had not looked up pictures until reading this thread and yeah, it's pretty dramatic. The funny thing is that if it didn't have the Mustang name, it wouldn't be quite as provocative. I think it looks pretty cool, but it doesn't look like a "Mustang" which is weird.

REVIVE! Great shots what are you shooting with? Lens/Body Nikon D7100 and I used a 35mm 1.8 and a 105mm 2.8 macro for those shots. Nice. Now that a few months have passed, how are you liking your Sage-1? It's probably going to be my next purchase. I just got a Chaparral. Love it and a total gateway...

That one body screw next to the lanyard hole wouldn't budge and I stripped the screw head trying to loosen it. I was able to loosen the other 5 just fine, but they must've used some super loctite on that one because that sucker ain't going nowhere. That sucks, mine unscrewed and went back in nice a...

Thanks, your shots are very nice too, I liked the glass table backdrop a lot. Looks futuristic! Yeah, I got a locking S-biner clip and it rides on my keychain. It's sharp as **** out of the box, that ZDP is quite something. I haven't had much occasion to use it since it's my back-up knife since I al...

I'm a little confused about the steel liners. The normal FRN models do not have steel liners correct? How could the Superblue weigh the same 1.2 oz as the non-liner models?

I wonder if we could get an official confirmation on that. Part of CQI?

It was 50 degrees here yesterday morning and 8 degrees this morning. Basically this cold snap is due to a weather phenomenon called a Polar Vortex. In short, it's basically arctic winds that have swirled unusually far down and have brought frigid air and temperatures with them. It's not an uncommon ...
