That's not true. In fact wine contains much more carbohydrates than beer.

Re: Favorite semi-auto handgun platform? (poll)

Even though I'm not a gun aficionado and absolutely against carrying a gun I think the 1911 is a very interesting design. Just think about it. It is more then 100 years old and still very popular. I also think the old ones look very nice. Maybe I will own one someday. Glocks are said to be very reli...

Re: Spyderco Calendar Contest...

Just a friendly reminder for those of you who have the 2015 Spyderco Calendar that we have a contest going right now. It opened on the 22nd and closes on 29-Apr. Check your calendar for details! I didn't know a contest is going right now. Why hasn't it been announced here? Unfortunately there is no...

I also wonder why burgundy is not included in the poll. I like it a lot and it has been popular in the past as far as I know.

Re: UKPK Sprint handle color poll

Wow. Most of the British Blades guys seem quite appalled at teal. If Sal and Eric listen to them, then I hope for tan. Only two people were complaining about teal... On the British blades forum its way more than that. I was referring to the "UKPK Sprint ideas" thread on British Blades. At least in ...

Re: UKPK Sprint handle color poll

I can live with teal...if a dark blue S110V comes along later ;) I'm quoting myself because I just googled teal handle color and I have to say I wouldn't be very happy with a knife in this color. The UKPK sprint idea is great but because of the lack of lock it's doesn't seem to be a particularly po...

Re: Poll - UKPK Sprint Steel Choice

Maybe we should make a poll regarding the color.
Earth tones and OD green sounds pretty good in my opinion. I personally would like forest green like on this Jester. Or maybe something like malachite, mint or british racing green.

Re: UK Penknife sprints

Basically you could say that CPM S110V is a huge waste of money, time and material(machining tools as well as metals like cobalt, niobium, molybdenum, vanadium, etc.). Are you actually claiming that using steels such as S110V makes one guilty of wasting elements? And by elements, I mean elements in ...

Rivets usually consist of two different parts like the corby rivet, a pinned handle is put together with pieces of solid metal.
Rivets can be solid too.

Re: Safe to use Ballistol on the Dice and ball bearing washe

The quote on BritishBlades said the company stated that it is safe to use on all washer types. I saw a lot of accusation that Ballistol is unsafe for washers, but no actual proof that it will corrode washers. If you have evidence, I would like to read it. I have experienced it myself. I once used s...

Re: Safe to use Ballistol on the Dice and ball bearing washe

I have never heard anything about not using it on bronze washers. I am sure I have used on knives with phosphor bronze washers many times. You shouldn't do that. Ballistol is pretty corrosive on copper alloys. Wow!! I'm going to check into that one because you're the first person I've ever heard sa...
