Re: Scary Health Thought: Intestinal Worms?
I'm not a health care professional per se although I have been a caregiver to 3 people that died>> but I have never ever heard of that method of detecting worms  I've been told by 2 MD medical doctors in the past that stool sample analysis is the one sure fire way of detecting intestinal ...

One test to see if kids have pin worms is to put a piece of scotch tape over the anus

Re: Scary Health Thought: Intestinal Worms?
Differential diagnosis indicates that denial is a sure sign of harboring intestinal worms. Any stomach or intestinal discomfort means you have them. Scotch tape over any exits will also confirm diagnosis.

Re: Ask me your fitness questions
Really good stuff. I'm 43 and am able to be pretty active in running during the summer but I find myself gaining weight during winter. I don't have gym access or much room for exercise other than dumbells. I am loosing muscle and gaining fat. I need a very simple bodyweight workout that may include ...

Re: Airport Restaurant Knife Issue: Ridiculous or no?
I was at LAX (worst airport in the world) getting a coffee and looked over at a ground crew guy who was waiting for a coffee order. He had a leatherman in one of his pockets and past security. It just get ridiculous at some point.
Re: Tea
So what's the tea of the day? Typhoo here and Princess Noori. Typhoo is a great, strong single cup tea. I really like the tagless tea bags. Noori is not a great tea but it goes well with milk in it.
What are you drinking?

Re: Suggestions: Nice day trip backpack
Really depends how much you want to spend. Wal-mart can set you up nicely with things that may work for you other options are going to be a lot more but will last. I spend $100 bucks on a day pack a while back but realized I had carried it for 10+ years. Currently I have a Mystery Ranch Sweet Pea th...

Blacking Blades
I'm looking to blacken a blade in 5160 steel. What have others done to blacken a blade? Bluing? Caswell? Are any of these treatments not compatible for food prep?
Re: Tea
My understanding is there are really only three types of tea, green, black (fermented green tea) and then oolong. White tea as doc said is young tea. Everything else is herbal or whatever. Is my understanding correct?

Re: Ancient Warriors: Toughness and Capability
Mongols excelled in fast raids, swooping in from the large expanses of lands on horseback. Would the vikings have excelled if put on a horse and handed a bow to shoot from horseback? Would the mongols have excelled if plucked from their environment and dropped onto a longboat for a raid on the Engl...

Re: Ancient Warriors: Toughness and Capability
The long bow vs. Mongolian re-curve is a bit of apples and oranges considering that Mongolians fired on horseback giving them greater mobility with power. The longbow was usually fired from a fixed position.

Re: New Bushcraft Blank
There are many good videos on youtube that cover the woodcraft mule, mules and even some bushcraft blanks. I have put handles on the mules, not the bushcrafts and my experience was that holes were standard sizes that fit pins I could get from knife supply places, I didn't have to drill out holes or ...
Re: Tea
Quick question for you tea connoisseurs... How long do you consider your tea "fresh"? I've given my experiece in coffee but I don't have a good baseline for tea... So, you buy a box of Twinnings at the grocery (?) If it's not gone in.., a month? 6 months? A year? Longer? You pitch it? Ken...
Re: Tea
Rooibos is great tea also. It has several different names. We work with some South Africans who introduced it to us and it is quite good, especially for late night. Not sure if it has made it abroad or not. Give it a try.
Re: Tea
My issue is with strings on the teabags, not tea bags themselves (except the ones that taste like cardboard). If you ever get a chance to go into a tea shop like Ten Ren you can taste the difference in the tea. I just came back from Turkey and enjoy the tea there quite a bit, rather brisk. I still r...

Re: Tea
I would have a tough time choosing between Thai iced tea or coffee- it's good in Malaysia too. The Cameron Highlands are one of the most beautiful places I have visited.
