How long ago was the 3.5 CF ZDP189 version purchased?

Following this thread over the last little while, it seems to me that there's typically fewer problems reported by people on the ZDP-189 CF handled Caly's than on the VG-10/G10 model. I could be wrong but I think the reason being is becasue a lot more people from the 3.5 threads lately bought the G...

It's very interesting that a lot of these recent caly 3.5's do not seem up to par in couple different aspects. Hopefully these problems are addressed as they are coming out very sloppy for some reason. The 3.5 is a great knife and japan needs to step it up especially because its a knife that Mr. Sal...

Glad I live in Arizona. I have a concealed carry permit & am 99% of the time armed, also have a knife everywhere I go, no exceptions. If stopped, just tell the officer you have a "weapon" (not a gun) and ask how they want to handle the situation. The lunacy I read about in other states & countries ...

Thanx bro. Time to get another Caly 3.5!
:)
Yes, I was thinking the same thing! Keep in mind that they charge tax now but still best price I have ever seen.

Amazon has them right now for $97. That's where I got mine from but paid $107 plus tax. If I could you though I would pay a little more from one of the dealers listed about so you could call them and have it inspected first. But like I have said before, it seems you like the smaller sized knives so ...

All 5 of my Caly 3/3.5 knives have been pretty much perfect, smooth, clean, and solid out of the box, so I wouldn't give up on the model yet. But I do have some advice. You seem to be quite particular and have high expectations. So please, find a dealer who will inspect the knife before shipping to...

Sorry to hear that. Out of curiosity where was this purchased? Not sure if it's the lighting but the G-10 sure looks dirty. Could this be previously owned? Either way like you said, you prefer to smaller knives so stick with that.

I like the way the H1 look, a more shallow scallop but both work well I know the data shows that H1 has far superior edge retention to VG-10, but I find that I really like VG-10 in SE. Hell I have even come to love the improvement in edge retention that I "feel" with SE when comparing with PE AUS-8...
