Re: Lc200n Dragonfly 2

I've also found the need in my rotation for a LC200N Dragonfly. Reason: I carry this platform deep pocket w/o the clip while at work in thin dress pants. Despite the dress cloths, during summer, its common for me to work hard enough to sweat through my cloths which quickly causes corrosion on my kn...

Re: The best part of giving away a Spyderco...

I've never got gifted a Spyderco.
I've given some, but it turned out those were not well suited presents.
Nowadays I only gift cheaper knives to non knife people.

A big benefit of coated blades, seldom known, is that they're much more comfortable to use in direct sunlight, as there is no glare.

I believe the salt 2 has a slightly thicker handle than the delica.
Yes, it does.

I'd buy an H-1 knife and a sharpmaker. Learn to sharpen, its a valuable skill for anyone who owns any knife.
I agree.
Also, I understand high edge retention steels have their place, but a easily sharpeneable steel also.
After dozens of knives, I find myself wanting a PE H1 Salt 2 for EDC purpose.

Re: Good kayak knife?

The Pacific Salt is perhaps the best all-around folder of its size for a true user knife. Lightweight, rustproof, thin, and in serrated it will cut through just about anything. And stays useable sharp for a very long time. Hard to beat. Agree. And the Salt 2 for the smaller size. For me, these kniv...

Re: PRICING

I hate the fact that I have to agree with the OP. For now I'm only interested in H1 Salt line... LC200N offers cost 1.5 to 2 times more here in EU. I was interested in trying a SE short utility kitchen knife, but it costs 40 euros + shipping, which makes it really expensive. Generally speaking, hope...

Re: I Tested the Edge Retention of 48 Steels

Check out ZDP189. I know it has been criticised [...] A fairly underrated steel I think, compared to many of the 'flavour of the month' steel grades. Also, this quote from the linked article on Maximising Edge Retention, bears some thinking about: "Edge angle had by far the strongest effect on edge...

Re: Wharncliffe blade: Delica or Salt 2?

Besides the obvious difference in corrosion resistance, in my opinion the deciding factor is blade grind.
Do you want FFG or HG?

Still missing H1, that rare bird that makes a big part in Spyderco's offerings and loved by many, knifenuts or not.

Re: Movie knives.....no not that kind

Most of the times I'm watching Netflix with my wife I open and close one of my mostly carried knives - Salt 2 or Dragonfly - with my left hand. My wife sits on my right and I train my left hand dexterity.

Stuffed mushrooms with the Dragonfly... sliced the bacon and the onion, opened the grated cheese package.
