I think alot of us are buying at least a couple of these, I know I want a user and at least one back up. I'd be torn too David with the chipping, I guess it doesn't really matter if it's a user but your right about spending the coin and expecting no flaws.it would suck to send it back and not be ab...

Wow, that would be awesome. I have no pre-order's though and I suspect almost all of the first batch will be going to those.

Looks really good. I'm a fan of Persian style blades and Its very similar.

Sharpened mine up today. It was actually more abrasion resistant than I was expecting. It gets screaming sharp. I was easily whittling hair off a medium Spyderco stone.

While not an exactly perfect comparison, imagine it like a Super Blue Military. 52100 does rust, but it's a tough steel that takes one heck of a razors edge. It's a great "working" steel. Solid peel ply carbon fiber with all the new CQI improvements, whats not to love? There, I've done my best .

Agreed, and the type of razors edge these simpler steels take is awesome.

It is similar to other carbon steels like steelspyder mentioned. O1 is another similar steel that is fairly common. However, this 52100 Military is gonnna be run a little harder than many carbon steels. 1095 is fairly ubiquitous in the knife world and companies build almost their entire product lin...

It's performance should be similar to steels like 5160, 1095, Super Blue ect. Although all have slightly different composition, the performance difference shouldn't be huge.

True. I saw someone bending theirs by hand. It doesn't feel like you can do that with the Hap-40.

I got a question for those who have been using there Hap40s. Hows the sus410 holding up scratch wise ?
