Some would argue that M4 is vastly superior minus the corrosion thing. Agreed though, it's hard to compare the two. One is a flipper and the other is probably the opposite of one. Classy knives though, both of em. :D Certainly true that there are lots of people very happy with CPM M4. Still, I've g...

The Gayle Bradley is nice. It's certainly cheaper (60% of a Southard Flipper). Of course it is 34% heavier, has a liner lock vs a ti frame lock, and CPM M4 is nice but it's no CTS-204P. So, considering price, dunno. Price independent, there's no comparison.

I have a better idea. Let's get a class action lawsuit started. Even if we don't get the full purchase price maybe we can kill 'em with lawyers fees. After all, Spyderco and KnifeWorks are both known for their complete disregard for their customers. Not... Dumb hyperbole much? When you p...

Humor? Afraid not. It's a business. They are making a profit. They are not doing anybody a favor. They owe us an update.

I think Knifeworks and/or Spyderco owe the people that put down $16,000 worth of non-refundable deposits on these knives some kind of credible delivery schedule and some sort of explanation.

I really doubt anybody in this thread is an 'undercover agent entering into situations'.

If you need a self defense tool, carry a firearm. If you can't, carry mace.

No, that isn't what I said. I didn't say all, I said 'many'. This leaves it open for those who choose to exclude themselves from that category. I was putting forth the effort to avoid using the term 'fanboy' as it seems to have an unpopular, negative stigma around here. It wouldn't hurt for you to ...

Many of the "Spyderco Faithful" are very passionate about the product. They feel the need to jump to the defense any time someone starts a post that is in any way critical or less than complimentary. So.. if we don't agree we're the 'Spyderco faithful'. There is a reasonable probability that, while...

" However, low quality expectations from some customers should not be taken as benchmark for setting QC standards, given the tradition of Spyderco striving to be the best in industry, or any reputable companies for that matter." We have low expectations so we should not be listened to? Really? I wa...

It would seem that in the end, the science of metallurgy and test results have to match. The Plastic Mould Steels report posted above concludes: "Considering the combination of all desirable properties of stainless tool steels, M390 shows the best overall performance." This was with Elmax and CPM420...

Sorry for being honest.

For the tasks at hand it should perform well.
Yea.. well this very expensive piece of S90V was, after all, designed to be a crowbar. (we need a forehead slap icon..)

The real question is what are the real requirement that should flow to knifemakers? I don't really think there is as much need for long term wilderness survival and knives-as-weapons as would be indicated walking around the average knife counter. OP wasn't snarky at all. We could have a lot more sna...

Spyderco has chosen a path the demands high R&D combined with low margins. I don't know how they do it but if it means some schedule delays, that's fine with me.

Well I didn't notice an age being given. If you feel so inclined to carbon date and parent him (or her) have a blast. My point is there are enough issues with the post and logic without going into age. Bringing the backhand-bias isn't necessary, IMHO but I'm only 13 :p . Attributing immature behavi...

More than you know!......Doc :) Apparently more than I know.. I can't find anything custom in CTS 204P and only the Microtech whaleshark (for $375) in a production model. For M390 I see lots of posts on how expensive the steel is and how hard it is to work with but nothing in the way of advertised ...
