Since I have a couple of axis lock knives i know what you mean. I can tell you that my PM-2 (photos above) works "exactly" as you are describing.

Can someone describe the newer lock to me? Maybe my previous unhappy experience with the compression lock was the old version and this new lock will sweeten everything up. I can't say anything about the "old" lock, but I can show you close-up pictures of the "new" lock in my PM-...

My MT12 mule arrived today. Here it is compared to my PM-2: http://m3coupe.com/knives/Spyderco/DSCF6170.JPG http://m3coupe.com/knives/Spyderco/DSCF6172.JPG I like the stone-wash finish on the mules. I wish the factory finish on the PM-2 blade was also like that: http://m3coupe.com/knives/Spyderco/DS...

Of those 3, I have to agree that the PM-2 has the best ergonomics ;)

Regarding the PM-2 compared to the Military, at least for me, I don't see how I would ever get the Military model - that would be way too big in my hand. The PM-2 just fills great :)

Yup, that is a good way to put it - the handles in the Para-Military 2 seem a 'tad' larger than I would have expected given the blade size. But the ergonomics are very good, at least in my large hands (I wear large size in gloves).

Received Para-Military Sprint - larger than I expected, but a keeper!

I have not been active in the forum a lot and missed the Paramilitary Sprint run with the CTS-20CP when it first came out. But after reading several reviews and viewing several videos on the new lock as being good for lefties like myself, I decided to seek one out. Besides being a very handsome knif...
