And yes I must agree with Gringo, I believe that it could've been a hit if it was made in Golden for a bit more as well.

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

You would prefer a back-lock to a Linerlock. What is your favorite lock? You do get to play with all of them. sal Backlock is my favorite, I'm not very worried about Spyderco folders closing on me whatever the lock but most can still open a bit too easy too my liking. The backlock is in my opinion ...

Re: Awesome YouTube Video by Lance Clinton (AKA Surfingringo)

Nice video and even nicer 'answer to Sal" text. Working on streamlining my house/life at the moment to have more space/energy to make carvings and knives. Won't be able to live it out in the Pacific due to health issues but I believe creating nice things is my best way to find happiness so it's good...

Looks good. The Pacific Salt is one of the best for this type of hard use to my idea. :)

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

Thanx Joris, I agree with you, but it seems that the price is more important to most than the design or the fit and finish. As it is going now, they probably won't survive. sal That would be a real shame, do hope that the design might still be used someday if this version doesn't make it. Maybe mak...

Re: If you could build your ideal Spyderco....

Not just one ideal, to many great options for different days.. I would actually really love a Polestar in Cruwear with linerless G10 and a backlock for edc for quite a few of those days. :D (same color/texture G10 as used on current Polestar) Once that becomes a great hit, I'd love to see an FRN ve...

Re: Spyderco Alcyone, a great job

Better jimping, beautiful g10, USA steel... those alone worth $20 easy imo but there might be more as I haven't bought one yet, and don't plan to own a tenacious. Thanks, but I'm looking for hands-on opinions. Curious why you think "USA" steel is a selling point? BD1 is just a moderate improvement ...

Looking good, will be a great blade, nice to finally check out 4V. :D

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”

I think the Polestar and Alcyone are much better value than the Tenacious, I've tried the Tenacious but never really liked it enough to use it much. Actually got a Polestar as a gift, probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise but really liked it once I gave it a try. Have actually gotten the Alcyone...

Re: Spyderco Alcyone, a great job

Although I'm not a fan of linerlocks I'm very happy to have both the Alcyone and the Polestar and with a choice of over 100 blades (mostly Spydies) these actually get used quite a bit. The G10 is great on these, very good structure to get some decent grip but not eat up your pockets and also quite ...

Re: Hiking, survival, all around utility

I believe you are allowed to carry knives other than 3" non-locking if you have adequate reason to need it in the UK, but I'm not sure. (also if you be biking I presume you would have those knives packed in luggage on your bike most of the time instead of carrying them on your person although you'd ...

Re: New Brouwer offering?

The clip 'issue' for me would be mainly cosmetic, would probably like the wire clip best for looks. (and like it for function as well) Pretty sure this clip and placement will work fine and it's easier to grab this way but I do prefer deep carry for urban carry to not have a knife showing much, plen...

Re: The Ankerson/Sanders Bouie

I'm in! Love these 'kitchen knife' style designs, been working on some designs myself and really like this type design. Can't wait to get this in hand, also nice to try out 4V in a not overbuilt bladestock. Should indeed make for a great user! The thing about 4V is it doesn't have to be thick, it's...
