About 4 years ago I was using my Spyderco Calypso Jr PE ZDP-189 Burgundy knife to open some caulking tubes and some other construction materials. I slipped and in my own carelessness I cut my finger all the way to the bone  . It bleed like a stuck hog at a slaughter house  .. Fortuna...

Some time ago I received a new Delica VG-10 and the action was tight. I put some teflon lube on the pivot point and was working the blade back and forth when my thumb slid across the blade. Yes this bad boy was VERY SHARP from the factory. ER with stitches. I've cut myself several times over the yea...

Seki made with black G10, VG-10 is good for me. (I think that's what Sal said) For this special knife, I would prefer American made with S90V. Carbon fiber or micarta. Satin/brushed blade finish and a DLC coated version. I'll take two please. :D :D Sorry, imho Taiwan doesn't seem right for this knif...

I have purchased a number of knives from Howes and they are good people. They have posted on their website "NO RETURNS OF SPRINT RUNS" or knives on sale. This is known before the purchase is made. With sprint runs, once a knife is sold out it is likely impossible to replace. We all have pr...

In reading the previous posts I found it ironic that someone else's first Spyderco was a knock-off. This was also true in my case. Cheap piece-o junk that the blade wobbled in. My first real spydie was an old Delica my brother gave me. It was beat up and didn't do much for me. At the time I commerci...

Moki makes their own line of knives, perhaps that is why they stamp "Japan" In reading about them, they are also in Seki City. So I guess that even though they don't say "Seki City" they are made there.

Mine came in yesterday. Beautiful knife. Very sharp out of the box. This was also my first Caly 3.5, always loved the Caly 3. For me, the 3.5 seems more natural in the choked grip. Fit and finish is excellent. Looking forward to learning how this metal performs, and more about the super blue charact...

It makes it a little easier to put your index finger in front of the locking tab, so it's pressing down in the the 90 degree cutout. More leverage and it actually feels a lot less sticky. This definitely helps. Not sure why my digicam sticks but I sure love it. I rarely buy a coated blade, but had ...

Regardless of where they are made, the new Spydercos I've bought have been sharp. Some sharper than others. I usually give a good stropping to new blades, it always seems to help. I also make a conscious effort to keep my knives sharp. When a knife starts to dull, it goes out of the rotation until i...

Depending on the blade material and how bad the rust is I have used "Ospho" with a 600 wet dry paper and or fine brass gun brush. The ospho "fixes" the rust to help reduce further damage. Note this may turn pitted areas dark. After rinsing and drying I put a thin coat of "Co...

Agree with Mwalle6. D'fly in H-1 or ZDP. Either of these would be a great choice. If going to be around salt water, the H-1 would probably be better. Get both....you'll be a happy camper.

I do believe Nutnfancy makes an honest effort to review gear as he sees it. He's not afraid to downplay items he doesn't like and he does give useful info on a broad range of equipment. Would I buy one of these knives? No....but I will continue to gleen the good info from the reviews he does. He lik...
