I had the thought BD1 was just ok in the edge department, from what he says it's around and near VG10 and I love VG10. I don't have an opinion on this but let's just say his edge holding opinion wasn't exactly scientific. Well, maybe the last TEN MINUTES of his video goes into this in detail but I'...

If anyone can shed some light on the quality of the Resilence G10, that would be appreciated. I bought an Ambitious for somebody and handled it quite a bit. Same construction as the Resilience, just way smaller. I was very impressed with it. I don't think you'll regret it unless you just like the E...

I always want to read about a steel when I see a spydie with a steel I haven't heard of before. But unless it says something like "very hard to sharpen" it doesn't really matter to me. Steels and their usage is VERY complex if you're not into metallurgy. I haven't been disappointed even with the som...

I would like to add to Blerv's good advice: run! (if you can) Still, it's hard to get over the "cool" factor of a hawkbill or reverse "S" blade. It's important to not let weaponlust interfere with choosing the right tool for an important job. It's ok to buy a knife just because it's cool and leave i...

Admittedly I have no formal defensive knife training and from what I've read online, the Matriarch and similar Spyderco knives are designed for individuals who have little training. I think this idea that the Matriarch is ideal for untrained defensive use is a bit overstated. As explained by Blerv ...

I have a Harpy that I've had for years and never EDC. It sits in a toolbox for the odd wirestripping job. I don't really understand the use for these sorts of knives, the blade shape doesn't really lend itself to defense either since you can't really stab efficiently. The Harpy blade shape maybe mak...

I like my Cricket, especially for days when I'm travelling really light. But the hairs on my hand/wrist get caught in the liner lock grooves on the outside whenever I reach into my pocket :( . It's a great knife but I need to find a way around this.

I'd be interested in a picture of the Salsa clip on your Native. I'm confused by the Salsa... the clip goes down inside the handle?

Really like that U-Boot folder you drew up.

My dremel goes pretty slow on the low speed, but I guess it's a question of how low is low. Seems like it'd be hard to get that washer thing the right thickness, this is probably a bad idea. Thanks for the input.

Native III (wire) clip on Native FRN?

I've got a Native FRN (which replaced my 1st gen Native last year). It's a great knife. But the clip has lost some of its springiness and is looser now. I know I can bend it back but I was thinking maybe a wire clip would be better. I see the Native III has a wire clip but customer support said it w...
