Re: Next Reveal is due when?

Well, at least they've managed to consolidate the inquiries, going from "When's that knife coming?" to "When's the reveal coming?"

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

Hi Warstein, Lock types make a big difference in that space between the edge and the front of the handle. Plus there are also many other factors that influence. The "Rock Jumper" model (not out yet) does address this concept in another way. Models like the Caribbean bring the edge to the handle bec...

Re: Do Super Steel Alloys End Carbon Steel's Reign for Knives or not?

Even if future stainless steels surpass current low-chromium steels, they will not surpass future low-chromium steels for users who discount corrosion resistance. It's always going to be easier to make high-performing steels if you don't have to make them resist rust.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

I know some people have complained that all of these upcoming knives are just slightly different variations of current knives, but that is what a lot of us want. I don't really have any interest in things like the Ikuchi and Pattada and what not. Different strokes for different folks as they say. A...

Has anyone else noticed allot of these knives are very similar in construction with minor differences chief among those being size.
They are all made of some combination of steel and synthetic material, and held together with steel pins or screws. So, yes.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

And that’s all folks, I shared every pixel I could from these excellent new Spyderco offerings. I have no other imagery or info to share. Thank you all so much for watching and all the kind words. I’m sure I didn’t get to answer every question and I very much appreciate my fellow attendees at the m...

I would love to see a locking drop point UKPK made in Golden and sprinted with steels like Cruwear.

Wouldn’t that be a Caly Jr. or thereabouts?
More like the Caly 3, but yes—if it were made in Golden, that's what it would be.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

1.86 oz for the Sage LW? That doesn't seem possible. The Delica LW is 2.5, the Chaparral LW is 2.0. I guess both those knives have metal in the spine that the Sage hasn't got, but they also have less blade and less liner.

Re: What's the best Spyderco EDC Knife?

So, hello everyone! I've lately started to think about buying a new spyderco knife, as my main edc, but the problem is that i only can afford one, and i really don't know what to choose. I've been spying on a delica 4, chaparral and the new upcoming para 3 lightweight. I mostly use my edc's for cut...

I still can't get my head around that of the original 2 Urban models, the knife-buying public chose the leaf blade shape over the wharnie.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2019 Report

The Endela looks like a perfect EDC knife, pretty much. The Police LW is awesome, but would scare the bejeezus out of the people around me. The Dragonfly wharncliffe is probably even better for DFly-type tasks than the original. I have to admit that I don't get why anybody would need an Emerson Wave ...

Re: Spyderco Shaman - Front Flipper?

...wonder if the front lip of the choil could be made bigger into a flipper tab... I've glued dowel pieces to a few compression lock knives, and it works pretty well. With a small enough tap you could make a bolt-on piece. The funny thing about re-purposing a Spyderco into a flipper or front flippe...

Re: More button compression locks?

Kevin Smock licensed the compression lock from Spyderco. Would Spyderco have to license the "button" from Smock? Otherwise I agree, it would be great to see the button lock again on a different model. They would have to license it if Smock has a patent on using a button to disengage a compression l...

Re: Tuf-Glide Not Working?

Tuf Glide is a much better protectant than lubricant. If you have Nano Oil, that's going to do a much better job on pivot action.
