Re: Spyderco Mobile IOS App - Giveaway!

Are there any plans to release the app in any of the more exotic steels?

Re: All Black CPM-M4 Military anyone?

If ever there was a knife that would make me want to go full Mall Ninja, that'd be it.

EDIT: the liners need to be black, though.

Re: Spyderco 2019 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Ok, this is a sprint just asking to be rite-dyed. If they did this in a Para 3 I'd almost rite-dye it, as long as I could get 2. Yeah, the scales are too light And since the whole knife isn't blacked out, it's kind of strange using DLC on a steel without much of a corrosion problem. But whatever: t...

I would buy more knives than I can afford, so I say no.

Re: BD1N vs S30V vs VG10 interesting result from cut test

Of course, both the BD1N and the VG10 could probably take slimmer geometries that would let them cut longer. The S30V, too, but not as much slimmer. I've definitely seen tests of BD1N at 30° and 63 HRC where a whole lot of rope got cut. I think S30V would probably have trouble with those sorts of ge...

Re: Para 3 lightweight

This knife is crying out for a factory "regrind." With the lightweight scales and hardly any liners, it makes even LESS sense to have a knife this length with a 4mm thick blade. What prying are you going to be doing with a knife that light in the frame?

Re: CTS-BD1N Where does it fit in?

Confession time, I broke my word. Put the Para3LW on the Ultra fine stones tonight. Have to report this steel gets sharper than VG-10 with such little effort very easily , very, very surprised!! Great steel, great choice Sal and Eric, very excellent choice. Blasphemy! I still think VG-10 is the ult...

What you're missing is the idea of diminishing marginal returns.

Re: Eric Glesser breaks down the Para 3 LW!

I've wondered for a while whether Spyderco would implement the compression lock without a true liner. Neat to see it happen.

Re: Ikuchi with titanium scales and CTS-XHP?

Such a thin knife with a thin blade, do you guys that have one and have used it so far think it would benefit from a super steel? Or more so the "cool" factor to say it has such and such steel? Super thin geometry is where a super steel can actually make a huge difference in performance. The thicke...

Re: Ikuchi with titanium scales and CTS-XHP?

Doing precision routing in tiny little slabs of wood that haven't been stabilized with resin—and then getting them screwed together before they had a chance to warp—would be a nightmare for a production knifemaker.

Re: Next Reveal is due when?

Well, at least they've managed to consolidate the inquiries, going from "When's that knife coming?" to "When's the reveal coming?" It has literally traded one set of questions for another. Maybe you guys are just joking, but I don't see those as being the same at all. "When's the reveal coming?" is...

Re: Next Reveal is due when?

The models Mr. Blonde introduced can't be seen as Reveal cause experience teaches us that between A'dam introduction and market release might be reeeeeeeally long. I, too, remember that there should be a Reveal every like 3-4 months - or is this wishful thinking? Bring us a new steel, please! And s...
