spyderskin -

I own one and am quite pleased. Contrary to what you may hear,
they're quite sharp & rugged.

don't shoot g-man...

One of the minor problems is the "four finger rule" which basically, doesn't exist. Here's what I'd like to know : why then do the local police use four fingers when they measure a blade? Why not a tape measurer? As for "blood scaring people"--sometimes yes, sometimes no. I have fought people who k...

hi Allen, the ipod is nothing more than a portable hard drive. as such, it can store data, .mp3 files, video...the thing i don't like about it is that the rechargable battery has a finite number of times it can be discharged/recharged, and then you have to throw the whole ipod away...no way to repl...

New York knifers beware!

I've just been the recipient of some bad news for owners of linerlock knives in New York... I received my recent issue of Blade magazine ( February 2008 ) in Joe Szilaski's questions & answers column. It involved two court cases he had to provide expert testimony in. The first matter was sucessful, ...

4's the rule...

Wait, online it says that the knife law is 4 inches. Does the 4-finger rule still apply? Is it illegal for me to carry my Civilian and Military? Tom Tom ; You most certainly can carry'em both. Connecticut public safety code clearly state's a blade "...not to exceed four inches..." I use the "four f...

Tony -

Usually if a system is "compatible" ( i.e. IBM, apple, etc ) this
usually prove's to be the case. I'd go with it.

You lookin' to store a library in there or something?

any iPod owners out there?

http://regmedia.co.uk/2007/09/11/apple_ipod_classic_1.jpg I was thinking of picking up one of these and wanted to get some feedback form you forumites. I also had a couple of questions : more importantly, are these merely an mp3 player? And can one load mp3 files onto them? I used to look at the pi...

some things we'd like to see in a spydie

This was sparked by another thread. The question being : what would you like to see in a new :spyder: model? One device which might prove interesting is the Carson flipper ( if we recall the CRK&T M-16 line of their knives ) - http://www.perfectduluthday.com/elleand%20flipper.jpg OOPPS!!! Wrong "fli...

why I advocate knives for self defense

This thread'll probably cause a stir... It requires some more explanation : one first has to take a look at something under the law referred to as justifiable lethal force ( or homicide ) Let me begin by stating I used to have a pistol permit in Connecticut ( which ended up growing wings, but that's...

Me, it's New Haven, Connecticut. The only places that sell
knives sell either Buck ( the Owl Shoppe ) or CRK&T & Victorinox
( Trailblazer ). A sad note : Trailblazer used to sell Spyderco :(

they call it flipper....

How would a Carson flipper be as a back-up opening device on a new Spydie? Imagine something along the line(s) of a Delica with the Carson flipper to serve as both a fencing guard and a back-up or optional opening device. If anyone think's it's overkill, look at things like the cobra hood . I'm in w...

Priority where?

My one and only experience was undesirable. No replies to emails and overinflated postage. I paid $22 for Priority Mail and was sent the package nearly two weeks later Parcel post with $1.94 postage tag on the package. No communication whatsoever or offer to refund postage. Customer service was non...

Known on evilbay, they now have their own website. I'm going

Spydie bite kits for the price of one!

I wonder if they do that with knives?

SMKW's knives for soldiers program

I don't know if any of you have heard of this program. Kevin Pipes of SMKW / eknifeworks.com has a program that allow's one to purchase a knife for a soldier serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. Currently the only two I saw in his recent catalog were the Victorinox one-hand parachutist ( I'd recommend th...
