Re: 30:th Anniversary Endura/Delica?

I'm thinking bolstered, with Ironwood or Snakewood inlays, Damasteel or mirror polished blade, original blade grind . Something quite out of the ordinary. Think 25:th Anniversary Delica, with a (different) twist. …and a different steel. I'd have a hard time going in for another Delica, even with in...

Re: Who else wants a SE Lil'Matriarch Salt in H1 ?!

Can we all just agree that anything that's offered in SE should at least come in H1? I'd even be ok if the whole knife wasn't full on "Salt" but of course I'd be happy if it were. Agreed. I'd be fine with a PE or SE Lil' Matriarch in LC200N as well (LC200N probably preferred for PE), but in SE my p...

Re: Who else wants a SE Lil'Matriarch Salt in H1 ?!

I also get that chopping a coconut is a whole different world than a folder will probably ever see. I wonder if you could baton a H1 folder through a fresh coconut without damaging the edge? I think part of the issue with the Rock Salt vs. Coconut was that I hit it pretty hard at a glancing blow (n...

Re: Who else wants a SE Lil'Matriarch Salt in H1 ?!

For all I know, a SE Lil'Matriarch in H1 might become the ultimate ripper, at least for me. For now, I am beating the crap out of my Tasman Salt2 and I tell you : it's a fierce cutting machine.A H1 blade has no match in spyderedge format .... I love it ! :spyder: P.S I understand why LC gets so muc...

Re: Who else wants a SE Lil'Matriarch Salt in H1 ?!

Yes Please! I love the Lil' Matriarch and would love a SE H1 version. My VG-10 SE version can cut through tree limbs like butter... quite incredible, actually.

Re: Spyderco/Murray Carter Kitchen Knife Collaboration.

I've had my Gyuto for about a week now and it's every bit as good as I hoped it would be. :D Super slicey with an awesome grind. A great handle and balance... And it's light enough that my wife feels comfortable using it (I think that's a good thing?). I'm very pleased with this purchase and can't ...

Re: Taxes on online knife purchase

Don't mind paying taxes for those purposes but its all the wasteful spending, misplaced priorities, and bad management in the federal and state governments that occurs that I have issues with..this is getting borderline political. States without a state income tax- Alaska Florida Nevada South Dakot...

Re: Spyderco/Murray Carter Kitchen Knife Collaboration.

A little bit of a bummer today... Cutlery and More accidentally sent me the 7.5" Bunka Bocho instead of the 9.5" Gyuto I ordered. :( On the plus side, they were super easy to work with and the exchange should happen really quickly. So far the Bunka seems (can't use it obviously, lol) like a phenome...

20% off MAP on the new Murray Carter line of cutlery. https://www.cutleryandmore.com/search?q=spyderco Holy cow, thanks for this! I was just getting ready to buy the super blue gyuto and this saved me $80! They removed the 20% off on these knives. Now there's a footnote on the Thanksgiving 20% off ...

They need to come with a sayas.
I agree. I just bought one of the Gyutos and I was thinking the same thing.

Sal, do you know if there is a plan to offer a saya in the future perhaps?

Re: Evil's question

My designs begin with an "idea", hard to put into words. The final design says it better than words can. I also refine that design (idea) over time to make it closer to the pure form originally envisioned. The P4 is in it's 4th refinement and in my opinion, closer to my original "idea" than ever. s...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

Hap 40/Rex 45 : Probably my favorite EDC steel. Takes a very nice edge and has some of the best edge retention. I actually prefer the cladded Hap40 over the Rex 45 so far. Aogami Super Blue : Takes a super fine edge. O1 : My only experience with this has been in the Bushcraft, but I find it takes a...

Re: SHAMAN FIXED BLADE

My main problem is the front finger choil. In fixed blade I see that just as a wasted cutting edge (in folder I dont mind them, because they fold). I know folders users like to use choils, but with a good design you dont need it. https://i.imgur.com/G9NB7Dv.jpg Well now I dont know....this looks ki...

Re: Let's take a look inside my Police 4

I don't understand why the liners would be corroded... they aren't K390. You dont know that. Spyderco's description of the police 4 in k390 says stainless steel liners. Correct. So not only does Spyderco tell us they're stainless steel liners, but we also know that K390 is a more expensive steel up...

I don't understand why the liners would be corroded... they aren't K390. Usually even on a non-stainless steel blade the liners are still stainless.
