Local store sells Spydies!

Yeeee-Hawww... I checked out a whole bunch of knives at a local SIR and, of course, nothing felt as good as a Spydie. But, they only carry a few models: -Delica SS serated **drools** -Delica serated -Some BIG knife (I think it was a Chinook) -Co-Pilot -And... ummm... like 2 more I wasn't interested ...

Well... I don't have my knife yet, but just yesterday my dad asked me about me buying a knife and thinks it's "very dangerous," because he thinks a guy at 7-11 or something will take it and use it against me. So, I'm not going to bring it to school, and will only take it out around people I trust......

204, eh? isn't that cheating?

I've been looking into sharpening techiniques and stuff today, and what I'd love is to be able to just take a stone or 2 and maybe a strop and create a razor sharp edge.

Does anyone around here still do it the old fashioned way? Or is the new stuff far superior?

I was hoping they didn't... I tried out a demo-knife with a spring kinda deal, and it felt so fake, and it could have just srpungopen in my pocket if I hit some button

youch!

Spring-loaded Spydercos?

Yah, it's me again... the soon to be, proud owner of a NativeII. But, I still have one final question. Do spydercos (Native II in particular) has some kind of spring mechanism that makes opening a lot faster and automatic? And how about for closing? I hope you know what I mean. <img src="smile.gif" ...

lol! I just phoned up my local police station and talked to a police officer regarding legalities of knives. He told me: -age does not matter. -you can't conceal a knife, but he said it's fine to carry around a "jack-knife" in your pocket, or whatever. -the size of the knife DOES NOT MATTER! his exa...

ok... ok... I'm convinced, I'm going with a straight edge. Hmmmm... I've been looking at pic of the native II and yah, I have noticed the hole is partially covered. Is this a big problem? Once I got comfortable with it, would it still take longer than a different spydie to open it? <img src="smile.g...

This forum is just too good to be true... or is it? I'm just curious, but isn't it a little fishy that the spyderco website has it's own message board? I'll bet some on here are from the company. But that's just my 2 cents <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Yah, so... this is all ...

kurtis... yah, I just checked it out and it's got some funky no-name symbol on it. I got it for a gift when I was like 8 from a mail order novelty shop, and I think I remember them calling it a "swiss army knife." Grrr... if I found that editor, i'd stab him. J/k - of course <img src="smile.gif" wid...

<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Charlie: I didn't mean to bad-mouth Swiss Army stuff... in fact, the knife I've owned and liked the most was a $20 Victorinox (spelling?). It was just 2 blades, one was about 1 inch, one was about 2 -2 1/2 inches. But, The regular plastic Swiss a...

New job and money to spend **grins**

Hi! A little background for ya: My name is marc, i'm 15, I've always liked knives. I've had those litte crappy "swiss army" multi tool knives since I was like 8, and little ones I'd buy here and there, and a nice little guy at a "Key Man" So, now... here I am, and I just had a sudden urge one day to...
