Can we see some prototypes that made it to production with some tweaks? I'm so curious.
I’ll second that, seeing models like the rhino evolve pre-production was so interesting. Would love to see it with other models.

Spyderco makes knives for everyone

Using my bi-weely forum rant to talk about spyderco's marketing and customer base. Namely it's diversity. Knives are not just weapons. A lot of companies (and politicians, but that's another post) forget this. But spyderco seems to understand the wide range of knife uses and knife users better than...

Re: How about a new Military?

well that's not exactly a hard choice for me.

I'd be interested in a tougher tool steel as well though, especially if there's a coated option.
edit: This'd be a spectacular platform for the reintroduction of 3v, maybe not as good as the shaman but still.

Re: Happy Halloween! Meet the world's spookiest Watu!

I thought you guys would appreciate this more than most of my friends do :D Isn’t this the truth? This is why I don’t carry an nice/expensive knife to impress people, because most people will be just as impressed by a $15 rainbow Amazon knife lol. Great looking knife though!! I love that bead, and ...

Happy Halloween! Meet the world's spookiest Watu!

Howdy! I've been getting a ton of work done on my Watu by @Karbadize. He does spectacular work and I'm honored to own a project by him. Most people I've seen doing scale projects go the natural route, I went way in the opposite direction. https://i.ibb.co/Jykncgr/Watu-1.jpg It's got smooth jade g10 ...

Re: Best blade thickness for a small fixed blade?

For a smaller edc focused knife thinner is great, since you really wouldn't be beating on it. 2.5mm stock is good as well, long as it's ground thin. I understand the aforementioned .010" bte thickness is a tad difficult to reach in a production setting, but anything close would be wonderful. I'd als...

Re: Boye dent poll. Let your voice be heard or be a sheep in a herd.

Oh boy, well... It depends. If the lockbar is on the thicker side or has been rounded at all, then no it's not necessary as long as the handle has been well designed. If the lockbar is thin, not well placed, or sharp, then sure it's a welcome addition. Basically I'm saying there are very few models ...

Re: Would s110v family sale better w/o Blurple?

Totally depends on the model. I’m not a fan of the blurple on the para 2 or 3. But the newer linerless native and the military are gorgeous in it. In the end it’s personal preference. I know the bright yellow of much of the salt series is a no-no for many. I think it’s a plus personally, especially ...

Which coatings are best for corrosion resistance?

I wasn’t sure weather this belongs in off topic or the main forum since spyderco does use a few of these. I figure I’ll but it here just in case. Soooo as the title says. What’s the best? I wanted to coat the metal parts (at least on the handle) on my g10 native, as they’ve got some corrosion proble...

Re: Large fixed blade- s35vn vs 3v

Would love a blade like this in lc200n, which I’ve never tried actually but sounds perfect. Doesn’t seem to exist at the moment. WATERWAY. WATERWAY. WATERWAY. Tough as nails. Comfortable in any position, with enough grip for anything from fine woodcarving to batoning. 100% rust proof. Nearly perfec...

Re: A (sorta) chef's 1 year review of the spydiechef.

I feel like there’s a lot of confusion here... I don’t really blame anyone for the problems, not a jab at spyderco or anyone. If anything these problems are my fault. Just reporting how the knife responds to regular actual use. I use 20dps edges on my thinner knives (mostly kitchen knives) often bec...
