Re: Im keeping my enduras. No to the police 4

Ok bruh. The real issue with understanding is that you want to insist i see things your way. You keep trying to "correct " me. Stop it. My opinion is every but as valid as yours. So understand that, or silence yourself. Your thoughts are no more valid than mine and i find your condescending approac...

Re: Advantages of 4 " (plus) blades?

Just my opinion my friend, but the main reason is under 4 inches may not be long enough to reach a vital organ in a SD scenario. If you are attempting to incapacitate an assailant, a longer blade capable of reaching the heart diaghram or liver while going the long way, may be the difference between...

Re: Advantages of 4 " (plus) blades?

I dont really believe in knives for SD, still i like to EDC larger knives (Military etc.). And yes, some food prep and whittling is easier, but thats not the only aspect. It comes down to ergonomics and handle size: i’m most comfortable with handles 5 1/4 “ and up, and like to have a proportional b...

Re: s30v spyderco's acceptable

It could be an availability issue but I don't think it's cost. I've seen as little as $7 difference in retail price between S30V and 20CV. I just don't wanna pay scalpers prices for a knife and I never have the money when it comes for sale at a retailer. Cost is more than just the price you pay. If...

Re: s30v spyderco's acceptable

what is your recommended way of brining our the best in S30V. All steels with a lot of vanadium carbide will require diamonds or cbn to get a good edge. A sharpening platform like the Spyderco triangle or Lansky is necessary for keeping the stones at the right angles. Diamond and cbn can be expensi...

Re: s30v spyderco's acceptable

S30V is great and works well for the desired price / performance point they're going for on new releases to make them available to more people. I do wish they would run some production 20CV or similar on the Golden line like they did with S110V and Rex 45 but I guess they're leaving it to exclusive...

Re: Advantages of 4 " (plus) blades?

Amazing! First of all, once again, Wartstein my friend, you prove to be a great thinker and knife user. I am very glad to read this topic thread and I am very glad you made it, thank you. My answer is similiar in some respects to others. At least for me, I have found that the "ideal" knife blade le...

Re: Advantages of 4 " (plus) blades?

Stimulated by some recent posts and discussions I´d like to adress a question to all of you who like to carry folders with blades of 4 inches or longer: What are the actual advantages of such a long blade in various EDC-scenarios compared to a not short, but around 3.5 to 3.8 blade ? Let me specify...

Re: Im keeping my enduras. No to the police 4

Appreciate the genuine discussion. I figure the LW is what i will hunger for. Sal provided some important (at least for me) information, regarding how the G10 from Seki winds up being a significantly more expensive proposition than here in the USA. In fact what i learned from him, may prompt me to ...

Re: Im keeping my enduras. No to the police 4

Hi Kenbo, Japanese G-10 hasn't been a solution. Availability was limited and cost was very high. Chinese G-10 was available, but quality was lower and is complicated by counterfeiting. It's something w're always working on. As mentioned, current solution is FRN in Seki. That's why there is no G-10 ...

Re: Im keeping my enduras. No to the police 4

it isnt Spyderco that has me aggravated. Its the dam retailers teying to gouge us. But it would seeem everyone is ok with that. More importantly i am apparently supposed to be ok with that. And recognize, i guess, that letting them gouge me and everyone else should be something i put up with quietl...

Re: Im keeping my enduras. No to the police 4

I’ve just my 1st Endura, the SuperGold version, and wonder whether I’ll need the frn P4 now. I feel the same. The Endura gives me all I need, at a perfect, long, but not TOO long bladelength... but then, the thread I started very recently ("advantages of 4 " plus blades" https://forum.spyderco.com/...
