Well, if these sell like the first crucarta run, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a pd#1/micarta run at some point. The joys of steel analogues creating sprint loopholes.
Maybe when the zwear sells out in minutes, they'll capitulate and make a pd1/micarta shaman regular production.

Re: Para3 - CPM-SPY27 now shipping!

I'm unclear if SPY-27 is a sprint or will be available for awhile. I'm in no rush for a P3 LW but need one at some point. I recently put in a pre-order at KC and am at the back of the line on this one. Spy-27 is regular production, so they will be around for a bit :) Yeah they developed this steel ...

Re: Manix2 XL back lock

If Spyderco was considering a Manix 2 XL back lock I would imagine they would've been watching the sales for the Manix 2 back lock before deciding if it was worth producing. Since the Manix 2 back lock was short-lived I would doubt they'd proceed with the M2XL back lock This. Maybe the failure of t...

Re: G10, FRCP, FRN -- What's the difference?

I'm curious about differences between frn and frcp. There is an old post from Sal on blade forums about frcp being stronger and/or tougher and not much more expensive than frn. He also said it would be used in the then upcoming native 5, but that either didn't happen or it's been mislabeled as frn e...

Re: Spydie vs Bugout

Prices are practically the same. CF-Elite Version of the bugout is more expensive. Ikuchi: $140 Bugout: $127.50 - $144.50 I stand by what I said earlier. The Ikuchi is the most similar offering from Spyderco, which is what the OP asked for. I didn’t say the Ikuchi is identical. The ikuchi is a good...

Ukpk in s90/cf would be a definite buy for me. Fluted would be perfect but peel ply works. Please no laminate, although I don't think they do laminate in Golden.

Re: Polishing a stonewashed blade.

I mirror polish all my maxamet. Ive noticed Maxamet is far more rust resistant when mirror polished. Its not easy, but i wouldnt say its hard, either. I use diamond compound and those felt/cotton dremel wheels. I can probably post a few pics, if anyone is interested. I can't speak for the group, bu...

Re: New Guy

The kapara moves quickly at the Spyderco factory outlet (SFO) when they get a new batch in. Only downside of the opfocus discount is that it's sometimes harder to get popular models right away. They be back in stock eventually.

Re: What’s Your Favorite Underrated Sleeper Knife?

The dallara 3 looked like a great griptilian alternative that was not popular, even at blow out pricing Centofante 3 is my pick - been around forever, thin stock, high hollow grind - blade all the way to the handle Centofante 3 is a great call and a great knife. Love that thin hollow grind. I just ...

Re: What’s Your Favorite Underrated Sleeper Knife?

I'd have to go with the D'Allara 3. It had the potential to be a very popular model. I believe the cost of G10 models out of Seki City killed it before many people got the opportunity to try out such an amazing design. I remember thinking that one looked interesting until I saw the price. I can't f...

Re: Ok, so the Kapara is really good. Better than I thought. Especially in M4!

While the Lynch wire clip replacement is not 'officially' supported to work with the Kapara and other models where the screw is positioned at the top of the clip I've been able to install them with high quality torx bits (without stripping the screw or bit) angled at about 45° for the last 1/8 - 1/...

Re: Ok, so the Kapara is really good. Better than I thought. Especially in M4!

A Kapara in M4 would be awesome. I'd have to find a good aftermarket clip though. The wire clip is killing the standard version for me. I have seen on Instagram recently some clip makers doing neat things. I can’t remember who the maker was, but they made standard deep carry clips that fit the two-...

The small blade in an average handle reminds me of the Dodo. Very cool option for those with 2.5" restrictions.

Re: Got it today: S30v Endura

Looks great! I'm really enjoying mine. Probably just isolated to my knife, but my pivot didn't have loctite from the factory and got loose, you may want to keep an eye on that. Seki lightweight knives dont put locktite on the pivot. Interesting. I never really noticed, but thinking back, I guess I ...

I would love to get a set for the back-lock version of the Lil' Native but without any of the screw holes for attaching a pocket clip.
Just glancing at the site, I don't think they offer scales for linerless models like the Lil native back-lock.

Brouwer. I’m about to order a replacement for the one I lost. Glad they repositioned the clip.
Thanks for mentioning the cqi, I missed it somehow. I'm going to have to reconsider this model now, the original clip placement was terrible.

Re: What’s Your Favorite Underrated Sleeper Knife?

Polestar is a great sleeper. I think it's overlooked because of cost vs country of manufacture(China). I hope the golden made back lock version Sal mentioned happens. The brouwer, which has been mentioned, is another. That clip position has to be the reason. I'm not super concerned about depth of ca...
