Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Opening up my newest addition to the collection! [img] Somehow this is the only one I have these days. Lost or gave away all the others I owned. It's like being reacquainted with an old friend. I'm excited to sharpen it up and use it. Forgot how sexy their geometry is! Good thing I had my pocket co...

I joked earlier, but, thinking about it, I’d like a Cruwear Stretch2 with maroon canvas micarta handles. I’d let blade and handle patina naturally.
I would 100% buy one of these! Nice idea.

Re: Really Spyderco ... 5.2 oz for the Emphasis ?!

All I can say is : bummer ! You ruined this cool design... at least for me :( P.S I allways thought this entire Efficient family deserves a better steel and now this ! Not too surprising, really, as the Efficient is a bit portly too. However, on the Efficient you can remove the backspacer and there...

My Crucarta Shaman is 10 grams lighter than the G10 model. (138 vs 148) ;) Making it plenty light enough for your mountain endeavors. :p

Re: Manbug Salt/ Ladybug Hawkbill Salt comparison

Thanks for this, 40mm! Both knives are interesting to me, but I'd only like one, not both. I also have the sense I would prefer the non-existent Manbug hawk.

Re: lc200n production

I would like to see an LC200n Native Chief Salt in the existing linerless G10. I know, the Siren is coming, but I really like the shape of the Chief and don't usually need or like such a big finger guard.

Re: Knife floats

Things are less buoyant in fresh water than in salt water, so freshwater is maybe the safe baseline 'minimum buoyancy requirement' per given weight of knife.

A couple years from now, do you think these Cruwear Micarta Shamans will be selling for more, or less, or about the same as the current mark-up range of $300-$400???

CG
Depends A LOT on how many other runs of Crucarta Shaman are built.

Re: Knife floats

Another thought... you could expedite taking the float on/off the knife by using a girth hitch-- although your existing knife-end loop looks too small to pass the float.

Re: Knife floats

I've lost 2 Spyderco Knives in the ocean so far. None while fishing oddly enough since I use them kayak fishing, but I've don't want to lose anymore, so after some experimentation, here is where I ended up. A short piece of 95 Paracord, tied to a key-chain float and the knife. I bought a pack of 10...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Cruwear Micarta Shaman due here on Monday. Pleasantly surprised I managed to snag one... and a bit antsy to have it in-hand. I have been carrying my s30v model nearly non-stop the past few weeks in anticipation! :spyder: Luck and patience to those still shopping! Looks like another batch, of a diffe...
