Re: Talking about your traditional knives

... I've got a natural canvas Micarta #86 on the way. How is yours? GEC-7370__59101.1573664431.jpg Love it, it’s a nice hefty traditional. Really digging the Sucker Rod wood. Nice pull and snap close. Cool. I considered the sucker rod wood too, but the Micarta should pair well with my Shaman.

Would you be able to swap this blade into LW scales, or no? Like the idea of a Cruwear blade, but I don’t need something that heavy in my pocket all day.
Darby did a swap into LW scales. Will only save you a half ounce.

Re: SE Shaman or Caribbean?

I think it largely comes down to whether you want a 50/50 choil or more cutting edge? Do you ever want to carry tip down?

Re: I wonder if you guys would be interested in a Lil' Para3

I agree that the Lil Native comp lock is so similar that it seems redundant for a Lil Para 3. I'm all in for a Lil Caribbean though. We're definitely missing a mid size choil-less comp lock knife. Cutting 1/2 inch off the blade to make it a little over 3" would be perfect. This makes sense to me. I...

Emphasis should be here Monday or Tuesday.
How is the Emphasis? Any impressions yet? Do you have an Efficient?
Honestly I love it so far. It went right into my pocket and I have been carrying it everyday since it got here.
Thanks. How strong is the detent on yours?

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run

I don't have any inside knowledge about it, but I think it may be that Carpenter does not supply PD1 (Punching Die 1- is the full name-- does that sound cooler?) as readily as Crucible supplies Cruwear. I don't know if this is the case, but there have been supply issues with CTS-XHP being available....

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

Sal just dropped this 45 minutes ago in the Cruwear Shaman sprint release? thread! Boom! I am pleased to announce that there was a special meeting for management on this thread and they decided to make another run of brown canvas Micarta Shamans. We'll use a different, but complimentary steel and ma...

Re: Insistent First Impressions

Thanks, appreciate the initial thoughts. It's smaller than I'm interested in, as the Efficient is borderline small for me. I quite like my Efficient tho and especially curious about the Emphasis.

Re: Peel-ply Carbon Fiber Peeling?

Where did you get the knife? I would see if the dealer would let you return and replace it at no charge. Spyderco would credit them and everyone is happy. Got the knife from a local outdoors shop in Seattle. I’ll most likely see if they’ll do a return/exchange since it’d be a whole lot quicker than...

Re: Spyderco BM Proper Killer!

My thoughts: Double dents, polished Micarta, full-exposed liners, steel isn't critical but must have good sharpening response. Cruwear, 52100...

Golden-built.

ETA: maybe a bolstered and a non-bolstered "value" model, otherwise same design.

I like 'em on a few models-- mostly the Stretch 2-- but generally prefer the 'humpless' models.
