Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

Screen Shot 2022-09-21 at 1.18.55 PM.jpg Pumpkin Spice Case Sodbuster. Nice and seasonal. I've been enjoying my two all steel and bone knives lately. Here's the newer of the two. #35 cattle knife from the last run. ETA: Also lucky for me they both have sweet long pulls and cut swedges, quite nice i...

Re: Where's the Lil Native Light Weight?

I wonder if this will have the minimal liner “tab” like the p3lw or full skeletonized liners. The tab would be pretty cool. I think it's a linerless backlock with construction like the Native 5 Lightweight. Lol sorry im blind No probs. I just thought you might wanna know it's not a comp lock model.

Re: HH UKPK drop point exclusive. NOW DROPPED

I'm glad i held out for the drop point and that HH commissioned it! Mine arrived while i was out of town and i'm just getting to spend some time with it now. It is indeed nicely executed by the Golden cutlers. My sample has an AV (January 2022) date code. Are we seeing any other date codes on these...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???

The #35 GEC Cattle knife from the latest run is getting a lot of appreciation around here. I didn't know i would like the winterbottom jigging pattern as much as i do. I have a real weak spot for peach seed jigging and it's hard for me to appreciate other jigging patterns. PXL_20220904_230947333sm.j...

Re: Tough Enough?

For comparing steels, outcomes are only relevant if the geometry, apex, and edge finish are as close to identical as possible.

As pointed out earlier-- geometry and edge finish can sometimes have much bigger influences on cutting characteristics than alloy and heat treat.

Re: Izula Equivalent

An LC200N Street Beat with a pinned and polished micarta handle, like the early model would rock.

FRN and LC200N would be cool too. Then it could match the Subway.

Re: Bad quality of C192TIPM390 Spyderco PITS M390

It seems part of the issue is communicating the concern. There seems to clearly be a finish issue that is inconsistently appearing on this model. To me and some other folks this is very clearly a finish issue-- quite distinct from a build quality issue, which i don't believe it is. Call it semantics...

Re: Bolstered and pinned construction

I would love to see more pinned and bolstered knives. Perhaps the smaller Japanese makers could just focus on those? They seem to want to maintain more traditional methods of production. That would be fantastic. If G. Sakai could make a run of Stretches like Paul's special one, that would be incred...
