No one has ever asked me that. Ever.

Re: Talking about your traditional knives

The Oil Field Jack landed yesterday. It is really nice. This is my first and only GEC. I am not too into traditionals, but have been waiting for a GEC that suited my taste and this one is it. I don't think this bug bit me as hard as the :spyder:, so doubtful i will buy many more, except maybe as gi...

Me too Enactive! I don't have any GEC's yet, but a small collection of Case. My sons and I get up to the Case Museum at least once a year. I've been meaning to go to the GEC plant.
Cool, Barry! My grandpa was fond of Case too.

Re: KnifeCenter CPM-CRUWEAR Native 5 with smooth black G10

Would you be able to swap this blade into LW scales, or no? Like the idea of a Cruwear blade, but I don’t need something that heavy in my pocket all day. Darby did a swap into LW scales. Will only save you a half ounce. More interested in being able to swap it into scales I can dye. Not a big fan o...

Re: Sal, can we please have an orange P4 LW?

Would like an orange handled P4 LW. :D :spyder:

I might be more compelled by K390 regardless of handle color-- over time i could see possibly wanting the K390 and an orange handled one in VG10. Maybe next year/ ;)

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

IMAG3747.jpg Did your scales come that dark, or did you oil them or use some other kind of process? I've used mineral oil and beeswax. I have applied both a few times. I like both looks, and have experimented. The wax and oils tend to "wear off" some over time, so you have some latitude to experime...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Old school geophone. Basically a stethoscope for the ground that is used to locate broken or leaking water lines. Doing some deep cleaning at work and finding some cool stuff. :) That thing is cool , Darby! Have you tested it? :p It definitely still works and it actually works pretty well. Th...

Re: Which steels did you carry today?

Each day this week I have carried and used a few favorites: LC200N (Chef and Native Salt) and Cruwear (Native and Shaman) and s30v (Chief and Shaman).

I don't usually carry more than one or two at a time, but I do sometimes rotate throughout the day.

Re: Caribbean Scales: Love, or Hate?

I haven't had a chance to handle one. I suspect if I get one I would reduce the hook at the butt of the handle. this is my only substantial beef with this knife. if it had a similar design as the manix 2 at the butt of the handle, i would buy a pe leaf and se sheepsfoot immediately and they would p...

Re: Caribbean Scales: Love, or Hate?

I have always been "meh" on the look of the scales. In context as a nautical knife it makes lots of sense to me. For my use, I would dye if I bought one. I like the look of both Evil's and Camber's. I haven't had a chance to handle one. I suspect if I get one I would reduce the hook at the butt of t...
