Re: Spyderco habit and latest fix: Stretch 2 V-Toku 2, Native Salt, Byrd Rescue 2

After a second round of cleaning both the Rescue and Stretch I have successfully eliminated essentially all of the play. There is just barely a tiny hint of play lift in both. Thanks again, FK! A suggestion to help with vertical blade play on back lock knives. Many time it is a small bit of dirt or ...

Re: Cara cara sized hawkbill?

Yes, interested..but it would be a massive pocket hog. My Byrd rescue 2 and Resilience are about as big as I go with folders. maybe they could sell an optional belt pouch?

Re: Spyderco habit and latest fix: Stretch 2 V-Toku 2, Native Salt, Byrd Rescue 2

Thanks, FK. A suggestion to help with vertical blade play on back lock knives. Many time it is a small bit of dirt or grit in the locking interface on the blade. I use a tooth pick or other sharp small tool to clean out the slot in the blade. Add some light oil of your choice and it should eliminate...

Re: Spyderco habit and latest fix: Stretch 2 V-Toku 2, Native Salt, Byrd Rescue 2

Thanks, Vivi. I hear you on the Native Salt, plus it has your favorite type of lock... but maybe a little small for your mitts. It's about as small as I like to go-- in fact my smallest Spyderco. I'm keen to hear your impressions of the Waterway. Nice selection you got there. Hope the Byrd sharpens ...

It only took me a week and change to decide to force the patina on the V-Toku 2.

Two favorites... Carbon and STAINLESS :D

I got impatient and forced the patina on the V-Toku 2.

Re: Can I baton with lc200n?

Lance and Vivi, glad to see two of my favorite Spydie-knuts having a moment :) . As a fan of LC I am sorely tempted by the waterway- really don't need it so holding off for now. My Chef and N5 Salt are giving me my LC fix.... for now. Thanks, Lance for a great design and will be eager to see Vivi ge...

How about a full-sized Caly lightweight? 3.5 would be cool too.

Re: How do we define sharpness?

Sharpness is the width of the apex measured in microns. Edge geometry is what angle the edge is at and how thick the edge is at the shoulder. Blade geometry is how thick the blade is at other points up the blade towards the spine. Also whether the blade is hollow, flat, saber or convex ground. Last...

Re: Who else is packing some LC200n? Whaddya think?

Maybe we can get Lance to weigh in on toughness (and other attributes)? He seems to be maybe the most demanding user of LC over the past few years. Sal?

Can you tag someone up on here, or some such thing?

Re: Who else is packing some LC200n? Whaddya think?

How is the SE performance and toughness compared to H1? Better in all regards. At this point, H1 can go bye-bye. ;) Have you compared both side by side so you can state such a clear verdict? There's a picture of a H1 blade bent 90 degrees without breaking... We don't yet know if LC is as tough as H...

I have been thinking or doing some reprofiling especially on the chef it is great for food the way it is ground but could be better if reprofiled.

As for my Caribbean and the Native just been brown stoning them and it only takes 2 or 3 passes per side.
Thanks, DWASC!
