Re: What to do if someone tries to rob you with a knife?
Sometime back in the '90s, I remember speaking to a former prison guard who related how he had gotten stabbed on the street. I don't remember the city or the state where he had worked as a prison guard. He said that while he was walking on the sidewalk, another guy wearing a hoodie with his hands i...

Re: What to do if someone tries to rob you with a knife?
So I've never thought much about this before, to me a knife is a tool, but today someone got robbed in a crowded parking lot within a block of my house in broad daylight at knife point, as far as I know this type of thing has never happened recently in the small town where I live. It makes me wonde...

Re: a painful lesson relearned
I’ve had more trouble with UPS (pronounced oops) and fedex than usps. At work, fedex delivered 360’ of 5” threaded steel casing. About $300/10’ stick. 5 of the pieces had been abused by spearing the ends with a forklift and dragged so much the threaded ends were worn through the threads. We filed a...

Re: a painful lesson relearned *update*
As many of you may remember I have told any who will listen to not ship through USPS. Even if it's free it's not worth it I said. Packages marked as delivered and not delivered I said.... So I recently bought a Chief (I paid to send it UPS) arrived with out incident. Then I ordered a Urban LW and W...

Re: M4 Shaman Exclusive
Yeah, but didn't that Para2 pretty much sell out just as fast? What if you took your batch of knives and only put 100 on your site at a time. You could take 1200 knives and put 100 on each hour on the hour from 8am through 7pm. It would be more work but it may give more folks a chance at one. It di...

Re: Spyderco Shaman - Front Flipper?
I dunno man, I honestly don't see much of a difference. The thumb hole with various ways to open it seems just fine. A "flipper" is better suited for a flipper tab. But whatever floats your boat. If that's how you want to open it, more power to ya. Just doesn't seem very practical. Totall...

This guy gets it.Tucson Tom wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2019 4:11 pmIf it's not a fixed blade, it's simply not a hard use knife.
Also, if it's not a 500 dollar slab of steel & titanium it's not a "hard use" folder.

Spyderco Shaman - Front Flipper?
@sal
By design, or sheer coincidence, it appears the Shaman is a legitimate front flipper.
This is a very good thing:

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
So, I realized something: with the 4 knives that arrived in the mail today, I have a grand total of 8 knives in my pocket & bag.
BM 551-1702 (pocket)
BM 87 (belt)
BM 51 (bag)
Leatherman Charge (bag)
I think I have a problem.

Anyone that uses any tool more expensive than 5 dollars as a pry bar should not be talked to, or taken seriously. What if the pry bar costs more than $5? :p https://www.homedepot.com/p/Vaughan-5-1-2-in-Mini-Bar-Nail-Puller-222CS/100126526 - $4.97, and will do all sorts of stuff way better than your...

Before you ask, no I won't wear all 4 knives at the same time. 1 of each are going in storage.

Re: M4 Shaman Exclusive
Beauties. I'm a little worried about the very light colored G10 on the Paramiltary 2, and how it's going to discolor (especially when worn with jeans). I will most likely swap the blade out in a Micarta handled Paramiltary 2.
