Re: Spyderco Face Mask (now bandana, hat and patch)

For the patch, just a simple spider like the decals or a spider in a circle would be nice. For something with a bit more detail, something along these lines would be cool. Red, yellow and dark blue colors, mountains and the Spyderco logo with or without the bug. The other text can be omitted so it c...

Re: Siren is shipping *alert*

I can also say objectively that my two Sirens are the smoothest of any backlocks I’ve ever owned, Golden made or otherwise. I didn’t really design the Siren to be a fidgeter’s knife but with how smooth the lock is and all the different ways you can flick, manipulate and close it, I think it qualifi...

Re: Spyderco Face Mask (now bandana, hat and patch)

Touching on the original topic of the post, I don’t think a face mask would be particularly popular, but something like a bandana/neck gaiter might be feasible with them being more multipurpose. I would LOVE to see a Spyderco hat though, and a hook-backed patch would be cool as well to stick on my b...

Re: What if a Yojimbo 2 and a Manix 2 had a love child?

Very slick job. My 'benchmark' for a custom job is when you have to look carefully to understand that it wasn't a factory model....So very well done. :) The Manix 2 is my favorite and I too was a little confused when I first looked at the pictures haha. Looks very “stock” which is what I too thinks...

I’ve never even held one, but I’d love to see the Dodo come back, it looks very well designed.

Re: Manix 2 in Maxamet: Talk me into it (or out of it)

The Manix 2 LW is my favorite knife by far. I personally prefer the CBBL over the Compression Lock for a few reasons. First, both can be flicked shut in one motion with fingers out of the way but I get a better hold on the Manix as I’m releasing the lock, more of a fist hold than a finger tip hold (...

Re: Which Spyderco is your Gentleman folder?

Currently it is a Lil’ Native, for whatever reason it just seems classy to me. I hope to make it a Sun & Moon Chap soon though, I just have to meet a personal goal and it’ll be a reward to myself :p

For me it’s either the Delica or the Native, that’s just the mental picture I have.

Re: Good Spyderco intro knife

Delica! Classic Spyderco ergonomics, big enough to handle most anything a 13 year old would be cutting but still not huge, safe and easy backlock. If the Delica is a little large maybe a Dragonfly, but the Delica feels more like a “real knife” to someone younger, where the Dragonfly might feel more ...

Re: Glock and Spyderco collaberation

With a laser etcher and programming skills anything is possible for stippling. Bi-directional texturing would be great on a handgun though. I doubt Glock would ever do anything like that, but Spyderco already makes an exclusive knife for Lone Wolf with a built in Glock takedown tool, so if anyone we...

Re: I've done it, I've converted him!

Wow, I feel bad for the person that ordered the G10 S110V and gets his LW BD1N. The Manix is a gem though, I hope he still orders a LW to have in the collection.

Scraping a bit of paint off the side of a forklift with my orange Dragonfly 2.

Re: Knives for fidgeters?

I have ADHD too and my favorite knife is a Manix LW. I personally like the CBBL lock better than the couple Compression Locks I have, it takes less movement and hand adjustment to open and close the knife, and I can play with it for way longer without feeling any hand pain. I always end up with a so...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread

And I personally don’t see a great application for the Tanto specifically for self defense (I subscribe to the wharnie theory of a tip that doesn’t fall away) but for a working profile, Tanto is great. It’s strong, and you get so many useful surfaces. My point in saying that is that I think this wou...

Re: Tanto PM2 Support Thread

I haven’t chimed in on this thread at all this calendar year, but I just watched the 2020 SHOT video and man... that is a sweet knife. The blade really suits the handle, I think better than the normal PM2 personally, I’ve always thought the long thin tip looked a little funny with the huge handle. I...

Re: Lil Manix

I’d be in for a Mini-Manix! I’m envisioning something the size of a Delica roughly, not quite as small as a Lil’ Native. A smaller knife with a CBBL would be awesome though.

I’ve heard complaints of the wire clips on other titanium knives leaving marks where it contacts the scale and slides around, maybe that’s the reason?

Re: What will you be getting from the new reveal?

The two I’m ordering for sure are a Swick and Mule. I have 4 options to choose from though, so I’ll have to decide. Likely a Swick 6 because it’s intent would be for my wife, but I’m not sure if I’d get the PE or SE.

Re: The heinous Canis

Just think about slicing cardboard with it, cardboard passing easily pass the thinned section of the blade, I think it would work great. I too don’t think it’s particularly good looking, although I also don’t think much of anything Ed Schempp designed is good looking, but I wouldn’t doubt the effect...

Re: Reveal 5 Live!

Those Swicks are definitely getting purchased when they release, probably one for me and one for my wife. That Swayback is gorgeous, depending on the price I may have to grab one of those as well. The poor Chaparral may have been pushed back again haha!
