Re: Manix 2 came with one skeletonized liner and one full liner

Welcome to the Forum, lineker268! :spyder: Yes, they must have had one blade left in that assembly run, and only one solid liner left. So they grabbed one that was skeletonized, to finish it up. The weight you gave us, is right where it should be. Given the mix of liners. A special knife indeed! :D

Re: The Galley-V, where to now?

"Where to now?" Well for me. After getting the Galley-V 600F, and touching-up a few of my kitchen knives quick. I couldn't help myself, and wanted to make this unit a bit more versatile. So I cut it most of the way down through the middle, and tried a few different sizes of transfer punches placed ...

Re: Shaman Rex45 Sprint - General Discussion & Support thread - (not alerts)

Hello SteveMidwest. Mine is also from the LS batch. I was suprised to see the LS date code as well. I have one from the ET run , but I haven't opened it yet. If I decide to keep the ET Shaman I will test it as well. I have an ET and an LS, so I was wondering if you’ve tested the ET Shaman yet. Than...

Re: Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Hey, SteveMidwest: The letter for the REX45 Sprints was written based on the original list I received. I'm sure of that, because I wrote it. The decision to add the Manix 2 Lightweight to the list was made later and Reveal 4 was updated right before it was released to add it. The letter was also up...

I've used the CBN Cat's eye stones in the Galley V to re-profile edges.

Thank you, Sal.
Is an Ultra Fine stone set in the works, possibly, for this new Galley-V 600F?
I just got one ordered last week, and it should be here this next mid-week. :spyder:

Re: If you could only keep one Spyderco

After getting sick to my stomach. Just thinking about having to make such a choice. :( As hard as it would be, with so many wonderful pieces. I'd have to pick my Spyderco Shaman Rex 45, Sharp Dressed Knives Burnt Orange Canvas Micarta, Knife. :spyder: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/4mGlgFt2lrcloS...

My favorite is the Rex45 burnt orange series.
Nice color and nicer steel.
What say you?

I say, that you are absolutely correct! :D

Re: Spyderco 2020 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Perhaps the GLOBAL PANDEMIC has something to do with the delays? ;) :D Possibly, steelcity16? But we do know, that it does not have anything to do with the Manix 2 LW being omitted from the paperwork, all year. :D My hope is. The delay on the Manix 2 LW, is due to it being swi...

I adjusted my Manix according to Steve's advice, and the clicking is gone. At least in my case, it was an alignment issue. Thanks for the tip!

That's great to hear, Albatross. Another satisfied customer! :D

Re: Sprint run Manix XL clicks. Any idea why?

Once in a blue Moon, I get a new Manix like that. More often though, it happens if I take one apart, for one reason or another, and I'll get that click. Once I have it all back together. I have finally learned how to get rid of though. By loosening the four screws just above the cage-lock (Two screw...

Re: Galley-V 600F Sharpener now shipping to Dealers

A lot of what "stevemidwest" said is right on. But do keep in mind that the Galley V kit is a rather specialized unit. It's mainly for long culinary type blades and it's mainly geared for quick touch up rather than a complete sharpening process. However I would still like to see more grit selection...

Re: Galley-V 600F Sharpener now shipping to Dealers

"Knife users who are truly in tune with their cutting tools do not let them get dull; they maintain their edges with frequent "touch-up" sharpenings. Specifically designed for this type of diligence, the Galley-V has a compact, high-impact-plastic base that can be clamped or even permanently mounted...
