I watch Ted and the Campaign recently, both made me sad for the movie industry. Unfortunately this is what our current generation veiws as humor. What ever happened to putting a little effort into the humor instead of just showing a bunch of stoned drunks making ***'s of themselves? I can see that a...

Hi Sal, Thanx for your reply! Should have guessed there are obstacles on that course too... Still, tooling for longer, pointier blade might boost the sales as that was one of the most often heard complaints with the original design, along the slippines and weight of the steel handle, that is. One c...

Just noticed this thread, I'm actually pretty excited about a sprint of the Lava. My stainless one is in my pocket as I type, probably my favorite knife Spyderco makes. I hope not much is changed besides the handle material. I may be in the minority on this, but I always liked the stainless handle o...

I've owned a Sebenza with S30V before, after using Spyderco's version of the same steel I really wasn't impressed with the edge retention on my Sebenza. Really what's the point of using S30V when you are only going to take it
to 58rc at the most? Hopefully the treat S35VN a little harder.

Ok, I'll play. What happened? Basically what I said. He was leaving a bar one night and got jumped by several guys for whatever reason. He pulled a knife that he had and in the tussle they disarmed him and stabbed him several times in the leg. I don't honestly know the circumstances that led up to ...

Yes the store is here in Saskatoon. As far as having the knife taken, that isn't based on hollywood, it's based on my father-in-law. He pulled a knife in self defence, it was taken from him and he now has several scars from stab wounds on his legs. He is a big guy too, much bigger then the small wom...

Due to the new pivot design of the Manix 2 and ParaMillie2 there may be some side to side play. I've had several Manix's now and all had side to side play. They use much the same system as a Sebenza, however Spyderco's tolerances are not as tight, so some play will happen. They are not $300-$400 kni...

Lil Matriarch

Just looked at the Mid-year suppliment and spotted this one. I've always loved the Civilian blade shape, but as a lover of smaller knives I wouldn't consider a civilian or Matriarch due to the size. Now they came out with this and I'm super pumped to get one, anyone have a idea of an ETA on it? Or a...

I was in my local knife store this morning checking out some of the new Spyderco models. Just browsing as everything is MSRP or better. There is a chick in front of me looking at knives and she asked the salesman what his cheapest "flick knife" was. He asked her what she ment and she point...

I got a NIB one recently for $80 shipped, **** of a knife for that price. I like that the blade stock is thinner too, makes for quite the huge slicer.

At work today one of my fellow supervisors was on the radio screaming for a knife and screwdriver. One of the fuel lines on our vac trucks had cracked open leaking diesel all over the ground. As I was running over to him I told him I had both in my pocket. I got there, took out my Leatherman Skeleto...

I have owned a Large Regular before and probably should have bought a small one. Honestly coming from Spyderco folders you would probably be disappointed I think, I know I was. For $450 I got two Ti scales and a S30V blade that IMO didn't hold an edge at all, plus was hard to sharpen. The thumb stud...

I had this happen with a knife "pimper" on the USN forums. It's been over a year since I sent him $145 and my $180 knife. Haven't seen either. Problem was people defended him until the end because of his years of dependable service. However when people realized that they were also going to...

I had a mini grip with the Wilkins aftermarket scales on it, still not happy with myself that I sold it. The scales were kind of a milky green, beautiful knife. As 0-1 is I believe a tool steel it is most likely in the high 50's for HRC, probably around 58-59. Could be up into the low 60's as well but I doubt it due to the bushcraft nature of the blade.

I EDC an Emerson CQC-7BW which is a tanto blade. It's actually quite useful for everyday tasks. The small section at the point is almost like having another small blade for fine work.
