Cru-wear Millie Hardness Question

Out of pure curiosity and nothing more, could anyone educate me on the target hardness range of the Cru-wear millie? I suspect it'd be 62-64 but am in no way sure.

Thanks a lot

The coil spring in the right side liner appears to be compressed when the blade is locked open. Is its purpose to ease closing of the blade after it is unlocked? Or is there some other purpose? Perhaps it helps closed blade retention as well? the purpose of that compression spring is to facilitate ...

I am curious- does the part of the blade tang sticking out in the compression lock cutout allow for helping to break the blade retentive detent, almost a semi-flipper? That is kind of what it looks like. Beautiful knife, btw. Congrats and thanks for the photos of disassembly and reassembly. Thank y...

It's still a compression lock, right? The lock bar is sandwiched between the tang and the pin. The only difference is the internal stop pin. It's still a compression lock I think, but the lockbar is reinforced by an extra external pin (that goes through the lockbar). The actual stop pin is press fi...

Laci Szabo Folder Complete Takedown

Machining/Manufacturing wise, the Szabo folder is a brilliant product with significant amount of details. However, the structure to me is an over complication to some degree. I like the knife a lot and I challenge anyone to find a better fitted and finished knife for under $500 dollars, but I would ...

That's what my friend is trying to avoid. Shipping knives from and to Germany can be a big hussle.

Where can I get replacement screws for Para2?

A friend of mine broke a handle screw off his para2 and needs a replacement screw (possibly the backspacer that the screw goes into too), Does any know if the screws are available anywhere on the internet or does he have to order from Spyderco (he lives in Germany so shipping can be quite slow and c...

Hardness of CTS-XHP on Manix2

I recently bought a Manix2 in CTS-XHP, while i love everything about it, i'm curious about the hardness of spyderco's CTS-XHP.

I know hardness alone contributes very little to a knife's overall performance, but i'm indeed curious.

Hope you fellas would help me out.

Technically nothing is wrong as far as i am concerned, i'm just curious why does spyderco build its RIL the way it does, that's all, plain and simple. The answer that i'm looking for is not "your Millie is fine" or "it will last forever", because i am pretty confident in my milli...

Is there actually a gap between the inner surface of the lockbar and the blade tang, or is it just the outer surface of the lockbar which is only in partial contact with the tang? Can't tell from the picture. This is how it looks in terms of wear, triangular contact surface caused by point contact ...

You won't be rushing out to buy an Umnumzaan from the originator of the RIL, then, if you don't like small contact surfaces??? :D Um' is a different story, as the contact surface is spherical and the ceramic ball doesn't get worn away like titanium does. Compare the Ti Millie to a Sebbie you'll und...

trouble is, I can't foresee any advantages of this type of lock-up comparing to say the integral lock on sebenzas, because an angled contact with small contact surface will definitely speed up wear and tear of the lockbar. bottom line is, spyderco RIL are made differently from the original RIL, and ...

Quick question about Ti Millie

I was very pleased by how well Sal and everyone else at spyderco have put the Ti Millie together, but there's one thing that really bothers me. The Lock-up contact on Ti Millie is Strider style(AR/GB), which means it has a rather small contact area, and this is not a compliment according to me. I kn...
