Today i have an alox classic on my keychain. Amazingly light, and very affordable. But I rotate with a manager or minichamp which both have a pen... Very useful. I also love my g10 finch.

I absolutely love my cricket, but once in a while my keys would get tangled in the spydie hole and it would open in my pocket. The ball detente doesn't hold it closed very strongly (at least on mine). Don't have a balance, to say if it would be better. Anyhow, I now have a SAK on my keychain and a ...

I'm not an expert, but that looks authentic to me. Also, FRN molds aren't cheap to make... more cost/effort than is typically put into a knock-off.

So, I think it is legit.

But, I repeat: I'm not an expert on these things.

Actually, it came out around the time I started collecting... and it was my very first Spyderco!

I LOVE the color. It looks a bit different in person than most photos... it is very nice.

Hey schofer...the one thing I've learned is that you can always trust Ray Mears :)

Look at the gorgeous mirror edge he has at the end of the video -- outstanding. I like very well polished edges on my knives. Waterstones are great and work very quickly. I like to finish with either a 6000 or 8000 ...

I have found this as the best on my Scandi knives

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We1-CDNaSFs

Hope it helps

The video was helpful, but I did wonder... Didn't it seem like he was using quite a bit of pressure (both in the main video and in the follow-up where he strops on a belt)?

Then again ...

I really like mine. Small but fits my hand well. Great if you need to cut rope! Also great for emergency situations, but fortunately I've never needed it.

I love the yellow color and the low-maintenance design. No rust, no screws to come loose.

Mine has a bit of vertical blade play -- more than ...

Tenacious Lock Question

The liner lock on my new tenacious engages about 2/3 of the way across the blade... gets pretty close to touching the liner on the far side of the blade. Is this 'normal'? Will the lock have a much shorter life-span? (Or do liners wear so slowly that it really doesn't matter?)

From pictures posted ...

Success!!!

I couldn't quite let this one go, so I tried some other methods to sharpen my electric foil razor -- a Braun model. I was going to throw out the dull cutter blades anyway, so I figured I'd play around. I did a bunch of things, so I'm not 100% sure what worked... but here's what I think ...

OK, I tried sharpening the cutter on my Braun razor with my white stones.

The verdict: Can't really tell the difference. It might be a bit sharper, but that could easily be the 'placebo effect'.

But, I was pretty timid in my sharpening effort. I didn't want to mess anything up. I may try to ...

Sharpen Electric Foil Razor?

Hi,

I've used my sharpmaker to sharpen just about everything -- scissors, nail files, potato peelers, etc.

Question: Could it sharpen the blades on a foil-type razor? (In my case, a Braun electric shaver.)

The blades (of which there are two) consist of a row of metal discs that stick up ...

Saver Salt Questions

Hi,

I just saw the Saver Salt on sale at NGK, and started thinking I might go for it... yellow/SE. But, I haven't seen many threads about the saver salt. (Yes, I searched.)

I'm attracted to the idea of a low maintenance blade that I can use in the garden and just hose off... without worrying ...

Sal,

I don't have any suggestions about the Crow/Raven. But, please pass on to the maker that I've had two (!) starlings fail on me. I returned the first... and the replacement suffered the same fate a few months later. In both cases, the knife was mostly just hanging on my keychain... and had very ...

Ladybug3: Orange PE or White SE?

Hi,

I'm hoping to buy one of the new ladybug 3s. Any advice on benefits of PE vs. SE, given the tiny form-factor?

The primary use would be on a keychain -- opening packages, mail, misc small stuff.

Advice/comments would be greatly appreciated.
