Thanks Mike,
It is good to see a course that acknowledges that there are different knife training needs for law enforcement. I will try to combine a CBC course with a trip home.

I finally got leaf blade a week ago and love it. I actually like the current color but would definitely buy a textured carbon fiber version. Spyderco has really outdone themselves with this knife.

ronin203,

If you are referring to the Blue handled CRIMPT it has not been produced yet. Us Gunting fans are just having to be patient.

I have seen some Spyderco products at Air Force BX's. If I remember correctly they were mostly Enduras and Delicas. I am not sure if I saw the Military model there are not. You probably can find one if you look around. If you are just trying to save some money some of the internet dealers have prett...

Carlos, I didn't realize that the compression lock on Temperance was stronger than the compression lock on the Gunting. However I an under the impression that the Compression lock on the Vesuvius was not as strong as the Gunting's. But I cannot remember if the Vesuvius is a nested lock like you prop...

Carlos, Personally I would prefer the modified Gunting version. You are right that the cost of such knife would be an issue. But then there are many in Public Service that think the cost of the Police model is way too much for a knife. From what I remember of the original firefighter knife idea was ...

Chambers, I will grant you that the appearance of the Gunting is new and different and maybe even odd. But I have been wearing one in my pocket as a utility knife for a while now and have had no comments. If Spyderco makes the UUK I would probably carry one of those because it is supposed to sit low...

Jason, Sal is the Owner and CEO of Spyderco which is why we are so lucky that he responds to the forums. Spyderco has a knife like you describe. It is a custom collaboration with Bob Lum. Tanto Blade, G10 handle, liner lock, and ATS-55 blade. If you go to the products section of the Spyderco website...

Ronin,

You are going to have a hard time getting a Blue G10 Native. Have you considered getting one of the G10 inlay Natives? These are probably still obtainable and very attractive.

I am going to have to agree will all that is posted above. Like Spyderholic said my nerves have not yet completely healed and it has been several months. Steel cuts flesh and Spyder steel cuts flesh even better. Please be more careful than I was.

Colinz, I also have the knifecenter link but most of those photographs were taken without permission. Sal tends to only allow photos on knives that are within 6 months of production. About half of those knives are concept models and may not get built at all( except for the UUK, please Sal). You migh...

Tom, There are probably better knives in the Spyderco line up for defense than the Endura but it would serve you well. There is a trainer currently available for the Endura if that is something you that you are interested in. For your future reference you will probably get more and better informed o...

pjschlaitzer I agree with Clay, your complaint is getting old. I am sure that Spyderco would not send back an Endura that was unsafe. The Endura is a good knife but it sounds likes you want more that a mid range knife. I upgraded from the Endura's and Delica's years ago and haven't carried one since...

Time for a New Cricket Sprint Run?

Please, Sal It is pretty much impossible to get an old aluminum Cricket and supplies for the carbon fiber model are dwindling. I know that last winter Sal asked forumites if they would be interested in a alimite or colored FRN version. The almite might be a good substitute for those that miss the al...

Mathew, I thought it might be helpful to mention that most people prefer to have their carry knives either all tip up or all tip down. Your current knife(the Native) is tip up. The Wegner you are considering is also tip up but the Calypso Jr. and the Starmate are tip down. There is no reason you can...
