Matriarch trainer?

Are there any plans to come out with a matriarch trainer. If i am not mistaken the matriarch and the endura share the same handle so it would only require that a training blade be manufactured to fit to the existing endura trainer handle. This knife needs a trainer to get the most out of its design as ...

Another excellent article Mr. Janich.I find a spear or short bladed sword to be ideal for this role.Firearms are preferred for this situation but if you have one or more other occupants in your home there is always a danger of them being hit by a stray or over penetrating round. You cannot call a ...

MBC Axe

Any chance for a spyderco axe or tomahawk in the future? This would be a small fighting axe perhaps carried in a shoulder harness. The Laci Szabo manhattaxe is a good example of what I mean.Would anyone else be interested in something like this?

Thanks for the idea about using the Wortac as a flat sap Mr. Janich. It is quite effective when used in this manner and gives me another less than lethal option when carrying this knife.

I,ve carried a plain edge civilian for self defense purposes for about 5 years.Every time I think I have found a replacement for it, I find myself going back to carrying it instead. It is an excellent design that allows for some unique uses in trained hands when compared to a straight blade ...

Tactical Knives is fine but more tactical is needed.Much of the content has become as boring as the gun magazines that are out there.More content to the articles and less technical fluff so I don't fall asleep reading it would be appreciated.Fighting Knives magazine was fantastic but needed more ...

The Civilian and Matriarch are two of my favorite carry knives.Special training is required to take full advantage of their designs. The push dagger is the most simple knife for the untrained.Everyone knows how to throw a punch and with sharp steel in your hand it doesn't need to be a hard hit to be ...

I've had no problems with the Ayoob so far.I'ts pistol like grip feels good in the hand.Like the UUK it seems to work best when held in a boxer type of stance. When held in this body structure the point is on target in both forward and reverse grips. If you handle either of these knives you will ...

My first folder I bought purely for defense was an AFCK purchased 5 or so years ago.For me it is one of the best handling folders in regular or reverse grips I own.Unfortunately it did not prove to be all it appeared. Despite never being abused in any way it's brittle edge chipped and the plastic ...

Hello Sal,thanks for the welcome.I was wondering if it would be possible to make a modular balisong?Could it be made so the pins could be removed and different lengths and styles of blades and handles installed? With such a system just about everyone could have a balisong to fit their needs. It would ...

I just posted my thoughts on the General info thread but to some up here I prefer the design put forth by Mike Janich there. It is a unique and useful idea for a balisong knife. Please make it Spyderco so I can buy one and finally own a quality balisong!

Mike Janich's design sounds great. The extended tang would be excellent for less than lethal strikes without deploying the blade, much like the gunting. The full size handles should have enough weight for flailing impacts.I like the under 2 inch blade idea for making it legal in more areas.A second ...
