Sal,

Depending on the speed at which this sprint sells, is there any possibility of a Para2 in 52100?

I like sandpaper placed on a strip of leather glued to a piece of hardwood. This is separate from your strop.

220 is a good place to start, 150 for heavy re-profiling (too much pressure and it will take forever to get the grind marks out). Then a standard progression of 320 --> 600 --> 800 --> 1000 ...

IMO, the MT01 in 52100 has been the sleeper of this series, probably because it was the first one in the series. It's a fabulous blade. Sharpens up very well and pretty quickly, holds an edge very nicely. It's not stainless, but that's not a problem.

+1. Not to hijack the thread, but I would ...

XHP and 20CP are different steels. If your google-fu is strong you can find some info on the latter.

I am waiting for the former.

Just wait until the XHP and M4 versions come out.**

**Disclaimer: I have no direct knowledge of either one of these steels being used in the para 2; this is purely speculation.

Unless the forum knife is released in the next 10 days I think you're overly optimistic.

Ronin and a custom

I really like my Spyderco Ronin. The one issue I have with it is its size when wearing it as a neck knife. I just took delivery of the custom pictured next to it that will be with me during the hot summer months. .110" S30V w/ CF slabs.

It's a Janich design. Given that another company now sponsors his training, I don't see it happening.
