I EDC either a SureFire L4 or the E2D defender, both really cool flashlights. Not sure what it is about them, but they are the Spyderco of flashlights for me :) . I also just bought one of their pens, which is awesome (heavy and thick though - which doesn't bother me). On my helmet, I've got a Petzl...

I'd go for the Millie or the Manix 2 - I've given the Millie a pretty massive work out with no dramas at all.

Hi there,
Seems a bit unusual for a Spydie to not be scary sharp out of the box. I used to find ZDP to be a PITA to sharpen, but with the Sharpmaker it isn't too much of a problem. Requires a bit more work (I usually give it 40 strokes per side), but it holds the edge really well. A great knife.

I second the Stretch SE - it is a good alround knife, with a great design. Plus you can get them relatively cheaply if you shop around.

I'd love to see another Spdyersaw, the Yojimbo and any of the kitchen knives make a return (or a 'homage to' ;) )

11am on Sunday in Aus is 5pm on Saturday in Golden.

It isn't that important that I can't wait for an email response though.

Ok, I'll email SFO and find out if they are available. Buying over the phone is a little difficult - time difference makes it pretty hard (unless I'm up at 3 am!)

Any update on if or when the shirts in the 2011 catalogue are going to be available? The PSM Polo shirt is definitely going to get added to the collection (as will the Spyderco Bug Pin! :D ). Just hope that they are available from places that ship to Aus.

Cheers

My girlfriend asked me this question today actually. I told her that I like collecting them and building on that collection. For me the knife represents one of man's fundamental tools and, over the years, I have been looking for a knife that I truly enjoyed using - that was a Spyderco. Since then, I...

As above, a hard material which is nicely textured and very comfortable. I am developing a renewed respect for just how good a material it is.

Congrats on the new Delica, I'm sure you'll love it.

I think that "sharpness" refers to the thinness of the edge itself. If I'm correct, then a saber grind can be just as sharp as a full flat grind. You may get better slicing performance from an FFG, especially in media that is thicker than the knife blade is wide, but to say that a saber g...

Hey there, Haven't been around in a while but had to chime in. I would go (and have gone) for the FFG. Much sharper and a much better slicer. I have sabre grind and flat rind Delicas and have never been able to get my sabre grind anywhere near as sharp as I get the FFG. In fact, I eventually sent it...

I guess like most people here my most prized knives come from my experiences with them. My Millie is probably my most prized Spydie - yeah, it is well used but it has saved mine and other people's lives on a few occasions. My other most prized knives are my Laguioles which I got when I was living in...

Should work fine. Whitetail around here average around 220 lbs which, from what I've read, puts them around or a bit over max weight for a roo. Yeah, I usually go for eastern grey roos which dont' get much bigger than about 150lbs (the bigger reads will get up to 200lbs, but I could count on one ha...

Have the Assist in Orange with the carbide tip and whistle. Never had cause to use the tip, but have used it to cut belts and webbing etc. It works, unsurprisingly. The tip of the knife makes it virtually impossible to stab someone or something. Its a great knife but it is also very big (which doesn...

Excellent, thanks guys. Good to know it is up to the challenge of processing deer. That means there shouldn't be any problems using it on roos.

Thanks for the pics too, I'm waiting with anticipation.

Another Knifecenter userhere, they've never let me down and delivery has always been very quick (even delivery to the Great Southern Land!). As for knives, Caly should be a must have. You might also wish to look at things like Kopas or Kiwis. Of the knives you listed, I've got the Sage, Military and...

Latest Acquisition - Moran FB02OR

Hi guys, Ordered the Moran drop point in safety orange today. Hopefully it will be here next week. I've been wanting a smallish fixed blade for quite some time. It will complement my massive forester. I've been trying to find a pic of the sheath that comes with it. Can some post a pic for me, pretty...

From my experience I would much rather have the Millie as an FFG. I use mine in rescue and emergency type of work and the Millie has never let me down. I used to use an Endura when I first started, but it is not even close to the Millie in terms of performance. In short, I wouldn't buy a Millie with...
